“Very Impressed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

In the heart of downtown Toronto. Check-in was fast. the room was a good size one bedroom, with a whirlpool tub. There was plenty of room for two people. The shower in the bathroom was quite small, but we did take advantage of the whirlpool.
Breakfast on the second floor was very good with buffet items plus waffles and cooked to order omlettes.
Overall it was a comfortable evening.

“Excellent Staff, Beautifully decorated and Clean! (bad neighborhood)”

Fantastic hotel, just wish it was in another location. This was my first trip to Toronto, and I chose it as it was downtown and I've had a couple great recent stays at other HGI's.
Just too bad our driver advised us not to venture left out the front door and not to go our at night. He said its a bad area of downtown.
With that said, I have to say hotel had some of the BEST service I've ever seen. We were warmly greeted and welcomed on arrival. Room service was fast, and the ladies in housekeeping 'extremely' accomodating.
We were in Toronto for surgery, and Housekeeping was very mindful and quiet when they entered our room when my daughter was asleep. Every call to the front desk was extremely fast in response. We stayed in rm 407.

The only negatives, (and the 1st no fault of the hotel) was some guy in rm 412 thought it amusing to have a party at 11:15 pm. His noisy 'ladies' (cough) left a while later, but not before banding around all of our room service dishes in the hall first, and playing with our leftovers. They came back at 4 am and started up all over again. I called the front desk and in under 3 minutes, security was on the floor and quickly shut things down.

The 2nd negative, was on checkout, I learned there was a restaurant on the 2nd floor. I thought the only eatery was Casey's, which wasn't open in the morning. I wish I'd been told about it on our arrival. It would've been nice to know that, as we were there for 2 nights and I left the hotel for all but 2 of my meals. (I'd have rather stayed there!)
At the time I thought it odd there was only the bar, but assumed that maybe I just 'lucked out' at the other HGI's I'd been to by having a great breakfast option.

TIP: ask for a room NOT facing the street at the front entrance. The street was dumpy and very noisy at night and had some pretty sketchy people out at night. I'd stay here again (possibly); but only if I had my husband with me and didn't plan to go out at night. Location is the only deterrent here!

“Excellent hotel in Toronto”

In middle if downtown Toronto, close to everything. Rooms are great and lately renovated. When we asked for rolling bed for the kid and they didn't have it in regular room, they upgraded for penthouse for free! Great service but smile more, visitors like it. Great breakfast. If I go again to Toronto, will stay again for sure.

“fabulous hotel, great for business people”

I have stayed at this hotel thru the week for close to 2 months. I can not say enough about the service, the clean hotel, and the rooms are a good size as well. They have a wonderful breakfast on the 2nd floor which has everything imaginable. The staff work hard to please you and the friendlyness of the front line upon arrival is bar none. Sean is a real pleasure to deal with. If you have to stay in Toronto for business they have all you need including a workout area, business area as well. I highly recommend this hotel. The cost is reasonable as well.

Room Tip: Only a few blocks to Dundas & Yonge square & the Toronto Eaton Centre, also has a microwave...

“Great stay for NXNE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We stayed here for a quick overnight in Toronto. The location was great and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the NXNE music festival was happening just a few blocks away in Dundas Square. We may try to stay there again next year. The bar downstairs was cozy and a great place to end the night. The valet parking was convenient and work the $20.
The only negative for me was that the unexpected down comforters (which I hadn't seen listed in the room info on the website) really did a number on my allergies. I didn't complain to the front desk, so I don't want that to count against them.
