“Small hotel in a great city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Toronto is a wonderful city, and we were returning on a budget. As Club carlson members, we got a great deal using points. Still we were welcomed warmly and allowed an early check-in on a Saturday. We liked the room, ours faced the side street and had a sliver of a harbor view. We did not have noise problems, but were not on the main street (Queen's Quay). We walked over to the famous (and free) Yo Yo Ma garden. Were able to hop a streetcar and connect to their subway for everything we needed. Be forewarned- parking is NOT included. We paid $15/day on a weekend. Still, this is a great place to stay for a quick tourist visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a harbor View or side street unless you want to be bothered by streetcar noise.

“Never again. Street cars buzz rooms til very later at night. Poor service from front desk”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed in room 212 facing Queens Quay where street cars pass by often until well after midnight and get started again very early in morning. Not only are they loud but the vibration buzzes your room. I finally asked to be changed rooms. Front desk then moves me to rm 624. After packing up my stuff and lugging to new rooom (no help was offered or given), the first thing I hear when i step into the room is another street car. I open curtains and they've given me a room cornering on Queens Quay...same issue with sound. I called down to front desk and was told there was nothing they could do. Only 2 rms per floor on backside of bldg and they were taken. Front desk was insincere and completely uncaring. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Horrible experience. Hotel is old and not well maintained as well.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms facing Queens Quay and the street cars!

Dear Guest,
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to you due to the street car noise. We are hoping the Queen’s Quay Revitalization project starting soon will help us to solve the noise of the streetcar.
We look forward to being your hotel of choice the next time your travels bring you to Toronto.

I must say the rooms here are top notch. I spend 6 months on the road a year and this hotel made it a enjoyable trip.

“Disappointing”

My partner and I stayed one night at your hotel and I took a nasty fall on going through the door to the parking lot - told the girl on the desk who wasnt very sympathetic and simply pointed out that there was a walk-in clinic across the street - I have completely torn the rotator cuff on my right shoulder and am faced with an operation. This incident/accident, happened in August/11.

“Nice location and a clean hotel.”

Stayed here this past week while attending a show on king st. The hotel was very clean the rooms were averaged sized. We asked for adjoining rooms and they granted it no problem. You have to pay for parking which is normal at any downtown hotel. The restaurant was way overpriced though for breakfast. We payed $97.00 a night because we booked through Hotwire.

Check it out if your downtown.
