“First Hockey Games”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

We went to our first Toronto Maple Leaf hockey game in Toronto on 23 Jan 12. We found Holiday Inn Express Toronto Downtown on line and book our room. The price was excellant, the staff were excellant and the location was excellant. My wife and I have stayed in many hotels across the country and the USA but so far for a hotel not being 5 star the service was outstanding and our small dog was welcomed with open arms. Any trips we require accomodations at in Toronto we will be staying at this hotel.

“Acceptable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Room dusty and small, but acceptable. A little off the main part of downtown Toronto, but close enough to walk to most things. Breakfast good start to the day. Staff very polite, professional and friendly. BUT the main, single, computer in the lobby for guest use is SO SLOW. They need to upgrade this machine and speed of their internet. Checking my email and printing boarding passes took 30 minutes, waste of my time. For this reason alone I would not go back.

Dear Valued Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay at our hotel. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of our valuable guests and it is evident through your comments that we did not meet them. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences experienced during your stay. Regarding the weak internet, we admit you were right in your assessment. While the hotel has made a capital investment in this information technology the problems you indicated were as a result of some defective equipment.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback, we hope that you will provide us with another opportunity to serve you again and reinstate your confidence with us.

Dear Valued Guest,
I am pleased that you enjoyed your time in Toronto and that our staffs were able to accommodate your needs. The complimentary breakfast buffet is truly a great added bonus and with the many choices is continuously changing to provide more selections to meet the needs of all of our guests. Our location is great and close to much of what Toronto has to offer and close enough to the transit system to be able to get you anywhere without the stress of city driving. Complimentary Internet and newspapers is one of the ways to say thank you for choosing us. Thank you once again and we hope to be able to host your next visit to our fair city.

“Great location, friendly staff”

I have stayed at this hotel before on business but this time I went with my wife because of a concert we had tickets to in the city. It is in a great location a few blocks from the subway and about a block from the King Street Streetcar. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, although I find the rooms at this hotel a little dark. The wifi worked well. The breakfast is typical Holiday Inn Express fare and quite acceptable. I would not hestitate to book again at this hotel as the prices are quite reasonable for being right downtown.

“Quiet stay, lots of shopping!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on December 30th. Check in was a breeze, check in staff Dylan processed me very efficiently and I didn't have any issues at all. The property is a bit dated, and the television was the old CRT variety. Not LCD/LED/Plasma variety. When I got to my room, everything was in order, this property is not a recently renovated Holiday Inn Express property, however the price which I booked at, and the location of this hotel was excellent. This hotel is located two blocks away from St. Lawrence market which opens very early in the morning on weekends, where one can purchase just about anything. Fresh fruit, meats, vegetables, cheese, breads etc. Also a few blocks north west is the large mall in Toronto, Eaton Centre. This mall spends a few stories, includes many notable stores such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Apple Store, Hollister, Lacoste, and many more. Many other electronics stores such as Best Buy and Future Shop is right near by too!

This hotel includes complimentary wi-fi Internet, complimentary breakfast which had a number of different muffins, eggs, sausage, breads, cereals, pancakes, juice, milk, apples/oranges/bananas, and a variety of teas and coffees. Please do note that parking costs $20.

In the morning a copy of the Globe and Mail newspaper was delivered outside of my room door. The furniture of my room and the lobby is a bit dated, however for the price I paid, and the location of the hotel, I didn't have too many issues with the dated furniture.
