“Disappointed!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

After checking numerous hotels and scouring Trip Advisor reviews I settled on the Novotel Hotel in Toronto for a one night stay. Where to begin?... Bad location - entire street in front of the hotel is under construction. We were awoken at 2am with the sound of a back hoe right out side our window. This went on until 5am. We were unable adjust the temperature in the room. The thermostat read 16 degrees, but it was about 28 degrees. Bad mattress, no feather pillows or neck pillows available to guests. I was shocked to see a 25 inch screen television perched on the console. No flat screen here! And the lighting was dreadful. The room was overall very dreary and not a place you would like to spend any more time than necessary. Carpets needed a good vacuum. Must I say more!. I feel duped and disappointed by both their web site and my fellow Trip Advisor reviewers - you let me down. I complained to management and have yet to hear back from them.

“Good value, great location”

Stayed here 4 nights recently, having stayed outside of the centre on a previous visit and so wanting something better located, which the Novotel is. Front Street is just round the corner with plenty of bar and restaurant options within a short walking distance
The room was okay, clean enough and quite big but nothing special, fairly typical. Small but tasty selection for buffet breakfast which was plenty for my taste. Bar area doesn't really have much ambience but with so many options nearby that wasn't a negative.
I would have no problem staying here again on future visits.

Room Tip: A lot of construction going on around the hotel right now. Eaton Shopping Centre is a 15-minute wal...

“Good location!”

This was a hotel we got from bidding on priceline so we got a pretty good deal. Parking is > $20/day and we did not have breakfast included in our rate. Everything was within walking distance or a short cab ride. Breakfast was not that good the one time we had it, you're better off eating out in nearby places. St. Lawrence Market is very close for breakfast or lunch. Also very close by was Le Petit Dejeuner where we enjoyed an excellent brunch. My husband enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The staff also recommended Guu, a really good Japanese restaurant that we were impressed with. Koreatown/Chinatown are also within walking distance. There is free wireless in the hotel as well. We will stay again if in Toronto.

“Good location, good staff”

The room was comfortable and clean and the front desk staff was friendly. Smooth check-in and parking on site was convenient. There are lots of good restaurants nearby within walking distance. A flat screen TV would of been nice. A small store is next to the hotel for some snacks. Will stay again.
