“Good Conference Centre, Close to Toronto Int'l Airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Just a 5 minute ride from the airport via free shuttle. Proximity to the airport is important when your stay is less than 24 hours. I stayed here February 8th to attend a conference being held at this hotel. I flew in to Toronto via WestJet, waited 5 minutes to take the free airport shuttle to the hotel. Check in was quick and the front desk staff were pleasant. The lobby area is quite beautiful. The room was spacious and had what I needed - full bathroom, king sized bed, nice bedding, pillow selection, coffee maker, alarm clock. No fridge. The hotel had free WiFi, which I appreciate. In what seems to be a trend for me lately, my room was right beside one of the many elevators, so I had the displeasure of hearing the elevator whirl all night. Other than that, the bed was comfortable and I was unable to hear other guests in the hallway or in their rooms. The conference facilities are good, the lunch served was also good for a buffet-style meal for 150 people. There were hotel staff constantly cleaning up dishes, glasses, etc., and doing a good job of keeping conference attendees happy. I would stay here again, but ask for a room away from the elevators.

Room Tip: Away from the elevators - there are many.

“Good For Business or Near YYZ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The hotel is ok and serves the purpose well. The staff are ok. The place is clean and the rooms have all been just redone. But something is missing with this place that I cannot put my finger on. I came for a weekend while my wife was here for a weeks conference and came the last weekend of her visit to pick up our kitten at the airport. The place is clean but the bath is really small; there is a second sink and vanity outside of the bathroom; but the first room they gave us was not fully done up like someone was in it after it was cleaned - they moved us right away. There are lots of restaurants nearby too. The restaurant is ok too but busy with such a large hotel. Try to get a room on the east face away from the airport and freeway side - a little quieter, but the west side is fine also - it will not keep you up.

Room Tip: Get an east facing room for a little quieter time.

“Lovely stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

A very nice Holiday Inn stopover. Lovely corner room..with WARM bathroom floor. Great in December weather. Had a late night meal in the Bar area....nice decor, great beer on tap, and terrific Pizza...recommended by the very helpful Barman. Thanks. A quiet night and great breakfast buffet in the morning. Thanks to the reception desk who shifted us into the very nice room without an adjoining door (as we've had issues in the past with rooms with adjoining doors). Definitely a great place to Stopover.

“Great hotel and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Holiday Inn must send thier staff to stellar service school. because it is. Great attitude and really care about your stay and want you to come back.
I continue to visit and stay at Holiday Inns in Canada and always have a great staff experience.

“Great for stopover at airport!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel because it had the lowest prices for park and fly (included, 8 days). Usually we stay at the Radisson (all suites) down the road, so I can offer a comparison here.

The hotel is very close to the airport and the shuttle did not stop along the way, it is approx 5 - 7 minutes drive. It was late picking us up by 10 mins, no big deal. We waited over 30 mins when we landed for a return shuttle but that may have been because some folks got on the wrong bus - when it arrived the driver was unceremoniously throwing them (a family with a young child) back off the bus! Not a great impression. Given the # of HI in the area, I'm not sure it was entirely their fault (buses show up randomly and you always need to check yourself if they're going where you want).

It is a typical HI - nice lobby, the staff EXTREMELY friendly and professional. The rooms were small compared to the Radisson which has a sitting area and sleeping area. But the heated bathroom floor is a nice touch. Shower was great. Amenities - shampoo, lotion, shower cap. Beds were comfortable but I found the pillows really "stuffed' (just a personal thing, I don't like my head at a 45 degree angle to sleep). We did not use the restaurant. The TV channels were great, everything you'd probably need. No fridge in room but a/c worked great.

In short, good location for airport, excellent staff, comfortable rooms - I would stay here again if they offered the best rate, otherwise probably return to Radisson. Both offer park & fly rates with above-ground parking, both close to airport, both have restaurants on-site, Radisson has a separate sitting area and pull-out couch good for families.
