“Nice hotel at a reasonable cost”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for a business/pleasure trip. The beds were firm, but comfortable. The check-in process was quick and efficient. The condition of the shared areas and room were very clean and neat. The second floor restaurant area was lovely and the service at breakfast could not have been better. We were very pleased and this hotel will remain with our Toronto file for the next trip.

“TERRIBLE BEDS!!!! SO UNCOMFORTABLE”

My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend january 21-23 and the people were nice not that we were in the hotel to much other than to sleep but the bed was absolutely awful it was like sleeping on a board. my boyfriend and i both went home sore and dead tired from trying to find a comfortable way to sleep tossing and turning all night but there was none. we were so tired and sore from bad sleep we went home early on monday without shopping or anything the room was kind of plain we had the room with a jacuzzi and fireplace but both nights when we were in bed sleeping the jacuzzi mysteriously turned on and woke us both up and we couldn't figure out how to turn it off. overall the people were nice but because of the uncomfortable bed we would not stay here again. oh and our room had an extremely loud fridge.

Dear carissa c:
Many thanks for posting your comments here on tripadvisor. I do apologize that you were not well-rested during your recent stay with us. Hilton Garden Inn hotels have unique "Garden Sleep System" beds in their rooms. Each side of each bed is fully controllable by the dial on the top edge of the mattress - making it firmer or softer as per the desire of each guest. As a standard, we leave them set to "midday" meaning not too firm and not too soft for each new guest checking in. I have advised my Chief Engineer to double check the baffle system within the beds to ensure they are working correctly and also asked my Executive Housekeeper to ensure our Room Attendants are turning the dials to "midday" and leaving the "Comfort Guide" on the bed for new arrivals. I have also asked my Chief Engineer to check the refrigerator and jacuzzi to see what the issue was with them.

I certainly do appreciate ALL feedback, so thank you once again for using the system.

I know you have a choice as to where you stay and I appreciate you choosing the Hilton Garden Inn Toronto Downtown – I hope you will make the same choice the next time you visit Toronto.

Besr Regards,

Sally Ifill, General Manager

“Great Birthday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

REASON FOR MY STAY: Birthday
CHECK IN: Smooth and fast.
ROOM: this room was big, with a big bed and couch (pullout). The room was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. The only negative thing I would have to say would be regarding the small size of the bathroom.
CHECKOUT: very easy and swift.
Other Comments: the location is not too far from some great downtown clubs.

“Excellent!”

Hi, I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on Peter Street on Jan 2nd, 2012 and it was my second time staying at this hotel. The check'in process was great, fast and efficient. We had the room with the whirlpool tub, king size bed and fireplace. Everything was great and loved this room. The only room for improvement was when the heating came on it was a little louder than what I am used to but it didn't make our stay any less enjoyable. I would definitely go back to this hotel!

“Decent hotel and location, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

I stayed in a standard room with two queens for two nights with family, including two small children. We loved the pool area, which we had to ourselves both nights. The kids had a blast there and I liked that we could regulate the music in the room too. Staff was very friendly from the valet, to the check-in, to just passing in the halls. On our first night, we went for a walk and upon return the front desk manager offered us four large cookies at no cost, which was a nice touch. Rooms are very clean and updated ... however, and this was the only drawback, the beds were not overly comfortable and we woke up a bit stiff and not well slept both nights. It was very quiet, so no noise issues. The location relative to family-type restaurants is not the greatest - it is the nightclub area of town - but you only need to go two blocks to hit restaurants like Milestones, Jack Astors, Alice Fazoolis, Cora's breakfasts ... etc. Overall, we will return to Hilton Garden Inns!

Room Tip: Room at end of hall, far from elevators, may be why we had a quiet experience - plus the Tuesday/Wed...

Dear wjtlet:
Thank you for your response here and really glad to see that you enjoyed your stay. The daily, fresh-baked cookies are the best aren't they?!
As far as the bed comfort - really sorry to hear that you were not fully rested aftet your night's sleep. Our Garden Sleep System is unique to HGI's and the firmness/softness is self-controllable and the dial is on each side of the bed - I'm hoping you were advised of that at check in!

Come back and visit us again soon!
