I have stayed at this hotel several times on short trips to Thunder Bay. Although there are other acceptable hotels in Thunder Bay this will always be a safe bet. There are two Days Inns in Thunder Bay, and both are fine, but this one has a more central location.
It is reasonably new, as in "not old". The corridors are a bit older looking, but the rooms are fine and clean. In Thunder Bay there are two things to look for in a hotel. 1.) clean
2.) clean
The Days in is a lock on that.
The service is also very good and the continental breakfast a nice add on. There is a Tim Hotons on the other side of the parking lot, along with a Montanas. This is good for travellers who like convenience.
Book at least 1 week or more in advance as the hotel is one of the first to fill up. I always book here first and then try other hotels. Without going outside of T-Bay this is one of the best that you will get.
Not saying it is a slam dunk. You will have definitely stayed at nicer places, but it is a consistent, safe choice.
