The Radclyffe House Bed & Breakfast is the B&B experience at its best. First, the house itself is cozy, warm, and tastefully decorated. The parquet floors lend a particularly comfortable ambiance.

The rooms each have private baths that are well stocked with the basics. Wireless Internet is available throughout the house. A selection of delightful hard candies was in our room. There is also a small shared room with a coffee, tea and a tiny fridge.

Radclyffe's location is perfect. You are two blocks from the major bus line, two blocks from the main biking/walking park trail, and about 1km (1/2 mile) from grocery stores and two locations to rent bicycles.

Best of all, the breakfasts served by the charming proprietor are works of art that are almost too beautiful to eat. Trish takes enormous pride in producing delicious and satisfying breakfasts to suit any guest's dietary need or preference.

Whenever possible, I like to stay within walking distance of what I want to see. Radclyffe House is nestled right in the middle of the Golden Triangle formed by Elgin Street on the west and the bend in the Rideau Canal on the east. It's a modest 3-story house probably built early in the last century - like many of its neighbors - from which one can easily walk to the canal or Ottawa Universtiy, for example, or access the abundance of restaurants along the Elgin St corridor. Downtown and Parliament are only about a mile away. Trish gets you off to a good start with an original breakfast creation every morning, as well as offering you great tips about the city. Check out the Lieutenant's Pump Pub on the corner!

Just returned from 2 nights at Radclyffe House, and I plan to return on my next visit to Ottawa. Trish made me feel welcome immediately. The house is immaculately clean. Bathrooms appear to have been recently and tastefully updated. Good bedside lighting for those who like to read in bed, comfy mattress and bedding, and a fabulous breakfast each morning. An easy walk to downtown and cultural amenities. A great value!

Located conveniently one block off Elgin St and within walking distance from Parliament, this B&B was a spectacular find. Trish was an amazing hostess, providing us with delicious breakfasts every morning, and always offering to help us find our way around the city. Kiglet, Chewy, and Sammy were also very entertaining!
