I flew into Ottawa for an evening meeting and was planning to just fly home again but was overcome by fatigue so I called this hotel from the airport and booked a room. The shuttle arrived within ten minutes as promised, the room was clean and comfortable and all of the required amenities were present. There is a Keg restaurant within easy walking distance which was convenient. All in all, met or exceeded my requirements for a hotel. The only negative (and not really their fault) was that there were a number of children (under age 10) staying somewhere near my room and they tended to make quite a bit of noise in the hallway which was hearable in my room. Not really anything the hotel has any control over and it all settled down by the time the little buggers went off to bed.

We had a lovely stay at the Days Inn Ottawa Airport hotel. Booking a hotel in the popular city of Ottawa can be challenging with just about everything booking up completely at any given time. But we got lucky with this one. We booked the night before our stay - they did have one or two double queen rooms left at the time and while it is a little off the beaten path for anyone who wants to be close to downtown Ottawa, If you need to go to the airport, then definitely this would be the place for you with airport shuttle service offered I believe. The price was good. The hotel was clean and our room was up-to-date. One thing that was actually nice was that since it is a smaller building, we did not have to walk "for miles" to get to our room, as we have had to do on similar stays in some of the bigger places like the Hampton. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was stocked with coffee & supplies, as well as complimentary water in the fridge - a nice touch. The wi-fi worked well. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise as it included make-your-own waffles, fruit and yogurt as well as the usual dry and hot cereal, bagels, muffins etc. The couple in the kitchen were cheerful and helpful, and were right on top of it as far as wiping off the tables between guests etc. The breakfast area is a little small, but on this occasion everyone seemed to have a seat and as others arrived, others were leaving so I did not see anyone standing around waiting for a table. All things being considered I give this hotel two thumbs up. The only thing I would add is NEVER EVER book your hotel through Hotels.com as we did. They caused us a little grief with not sending us our confirmation which led to not going to the correct hotel, and they also sur-charged us an extra charge which the Days Inn said they do not do, so Hotels.com are issuing us a refund on that part. Just book direct with the hotel. Enough said. :)

Stayed overnight in Ottawa for a flight out the next morning to a 2 week vacation. Staff was courteous and helpful and price was very reasonable. They upgraded the room to the Honeymoon Suite without knowing that it was our 35th Wedding Anniversary. The suite has a separate sitting area and computer, with French Doors into a long bedroom with corner gas fireplace, king size bed and two seater corner whirlpool. Also a separate full bathroom. We overlooked a lawn, edged with trees and farmers fields - a peaceful and quiet start to the holiday. The rooms and hotel were very clean and bed was very comfortable.
The Keg was next door and Tim Horton's is out in front and only 2 minutes away from the airport. They arranged free airport shuttle pick up and we had parking at the hotel. Continental breakfast was fabulous with waffles, berry compote, fresh fruit plate and all the regular things from toast to cereal to yogurt. Days Inn set the pace to the start of our vacation and would definitely stay here in the future - excellent experience. Highly recommend them.
For families with young children - the pool is very small and not sure if they have a play area, but that is about the only negative thing I can say about the place for other travellers.

We were put on a floor with a very rude teenage soccer team. They ran up and down the halls, banged doors, and were Extremely Loud. Their chaperones were sitting out in the halls and did nothing to stop them. We complained to the front desk twice - finally after asking the front desk if we had to call the cops (around 1:00 am) the noise settled down a bit.
Our suggestion to this hotel - NEVER put paying customers that want to sleep on a floor with a teenage soccer team!!
