Stayed here for work, as it is a good location and central to down town Ottawa. Very basic rooms, although clean, required several repairs. Phone not working, wall paper falling off wall, and grout missing between the bathroom tiles. Front reception staff were all very polite and accommodating. Breakfast was of very poor quality, and limited, although the breakfast was included, the selection was poor, and very limited if you do not like eggs and bacon. If you wanted an orange juice with your breakfast, you had to pay extra for it. One of the female servers constantly called hotel guests "dear", which is very condescending to many and constantly got the order incorrect. I bought a drink in the lounge area, if that's what it was (one couch and table, with broken chairs), and the male waiter bought the bill and the drink was $7 and he decided that he would keep the change out of $10, without evening checking to see if this was the tip, took the $10 and never came back twice this happened), this I find disrespectful. Very average rooms, queen bed, desk, and TV. Bed is hard and pillows uncomfortable. Internet was good, and the view was lovely. I am still not sure if my bed linen was changed as either house keeping didn't change the sheets, or the hotel does not own a iron! Would I stay here again, I doubt it as the male and female servers spoiled the stay and the breakfast was poor. On the good side, there was a lovely young male server working Saturday evening, who was a polite and a respectable gentleman, maybe he can teach this good service to the other two staff members. PS: If you are needing to use the business centre, prepare to use a computer they bought in the 70's, and go in single file, as the room fits one person only!
Room Tip: Ask for high floors looking over Parliament Hill, otherwise you are looking at private apartments
