The Swiss Hotel is a very nice small hotel. My room appeared to have been recently (and nicely) renovated. The room was small in its horizontal dimensions but it did have high ceilings making it feel more roomy. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower and the tiles were coloured glass - very nice. I stayed four nights and it was quiet. I felt that I had my privacy there too. Also, because I stayed four nights I got an excellent discounted rate for Ottawa ($90/night). This lower rate didn't include breakfast but on the day I checked out I did have breakfast there for $15 - it was very good with lots of variety. The location is very convenient. There was a nice flat-screen TV and good cable coverage. There was even an ipad in the room for my use (but I had my own). Their web site indicated that one could take the #97 bus from the airport to the hotel which I did for $3.25 instead of a $30+ cab fare. The bus dropped me off at the back of the Rideau Centre and the hotel was only a couple of blocks walk from there. I will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to colleagues and others who travel to Ottawa.

Comfortable, friendly and I love the little details like eco-friendly, yummy-smelling toiletries, the delicious breakfast that included meats, cheeses, fruits, pastries, even the option for soy milk (I didn't drink any but it was nice to see the option there). Would be lovely if the eggs were free-range too - I don't know if they were. The host was incredibly accommodating and the room luxuriously comfortable and a lovely shower (I love a nice hot shower after wandering around town). If ever I was in Ottawa again, and wanted to spoil myself without the pretension of a big chain hotel but still having the convenience of being close to town I would stay here. It cost a bit more but it's worth it to treat yourself every so often.

The hotel was within walking distance of the mall, parliament, and the byward market. There was a metro grocery store just around the corner which came in handy one evening. The hotel staff was pleasant and the front desk attendant was very helpful pointing out places to go and things to do and call the taxis for you. The room was clean and the windows opened, the AC worked great and the bathroom was newly renovated. Would go back again for sure and recommend to others. The rooms were quiet for sleeping.

I stayed at the Swiss Hotel while attending a conference at the Ottawa Convention Centre. The hotel is perfectly located for business or pleasure travelers: just a quick and easy walk to the Convention Centre, Parliament Hill, Rideau Street and the Byward Market.

When I arrived at the hotel, all of the parking spots were taken but there's a public lot just across the street (handy!)

I stayed in a well-appointed Standard Twin room on the first floor. The room was clean and functional. The bathroom included a great shower (something many hotels are missing!) and lovely toiletries. The in-room WiFi was strong and never dropped.

Breakfast was great and varied - and the coffee amazing. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating enough to allow for outdoor eating on the patio as it looked beautiful. However, the dining room is large and chic and suited me just fine.

I had a very good stay and would recommend the Swiss Hotel for travelers who want to be central but also want a little more personality than the big chain hotels.
