If you're looking for an affordable and nice place to stay within walking distance of downtown Ottawa, this should be on your list. The interior is quite nice, but it is quite obvious that it is an older building with renovations. The pool is extremely small (only 3' 10" deep) and the ceilings are low. There's also a postal mail chute near the elevators from 100 years ago (sarcastic). The parking garage underneath is like a small cavern and would be very difficult to navigate through if there's a lot of traffic. The hotel lacks that "Wow" factor. However, it is certainly acceptable, clean, well priced, and offers a great location. And the breakfast is out of this world - the largest selection we have seen in a long long time - from bagels, waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, cinnamon and sugar toast, all kinds of fruit, yogurt, and even a soda machine! The room was very spacious and had new HD TVs. Clean and well kept. The hotel room lacked a fan - so it was so quiet, we had a hard time getting to sleep.
