Service at the Marriott Residence Inn Ottawa is outstanding. From manager, desk staff, kitchen staff, maid service > everybody was helpful and friendly. I've stayed at several hotels for business and personal trips and in my opinion the Marriott Residence Inn Ottawa ranks among the best.

The location of this hotel can not be beat. It is walking distance to parks, shopping, government buildings, restaurants, coffee shops, clubs/bars, theatre, museums, galleries, music venues, other hotels. Little Italy and China Town are just a short drive/cab away. The Ottawa 67's are about 10 minutes drive and about a 25 minute drive to the Ottawa Senators hockey arena.

The hotel has secure parking underground. The gym is stocked with a variety of equipment. I did not use the pool but while in the gym I noticed it was being maintained by staff.

A variety of food is seved for breakfast every day > hot or cold cereal, waffle/pancake, sausage, juice, coffee, fruit, bagels, yogurt, etc. A light supper is served a few times a week. The kitchen staff were helpful and every meal request was acknowledged. The dining area was spacious, bright and inviting.

The hotel room felt like home. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities > right down to pots and measuring cup. All of the kitchen appliances worked well throughout my stay. The furniture and decor was clean, stylish and modern. Nothing seemed used or worn. The rooms (living, bath, bed) are spacious. No noises seeped in from other rooms. There is Wi-Fi in the hotel room but there is a problem with the signal dropping-out. The windows faced another building (so I didn't spend much time enjoying the view) but they did allow sufficient sunlight into the room through the day.

I felt very comfortable throughout my stay at the Residence Inn. They have exceeded on two levels (1) accommodation and (2) hospitality. I honestly did not feel like leaving > something I find rare in the hotel world. I highly recommend this hotel and thank their staff for a fantastic stay.

This hotel has everything the business or vacation traveller needs: location, reasonable price, comfort, service, and breakfast. Friendly staff guide you in to a comfortable, spacious, clean room with a fully equipped kitchen, which is nice to have. The location is perfect for experiencing the best of Ottawa, which for me means the parliament buildings, Byward Market, the canal and Elgin St. The front desk is on the fourth floor--accessible via the elevator.

I Have been to several hotel around the world and so far this one for service is by far amazing. Rooms are nice and spacious but most of all the the service. I called the front desk during the evening of the 15 December 2011 and every time part from hanging up the phone they were at my door with the items in question. Brian recommended a restaurant and had knowledge of the food. Went for dinner and was amazed by quality and price. I went for breakfast and was very pleased with selection. Thanks to night staff on Thursday night.

I've been staying here a week, and still have another week to go. I am very happy to have chosen this place. The room is a large suite, almost like an apartment (livingroom, kitchen, seperate bedroom). The rooms are recently renovated, they are decent, and very clean, and the service is excellent. Also, I find place noiseproof, I don't t hear any noice from other rooms (even though it's pet friendly) or from the traffic outside. I was a little concerned at first that the check in is on the 4th floor, as I felt people could just come in off the streets and roam the hotel, but they lock the front doors at 10pm (only those with hotel cards have access) and after a week, I realize that really there aren't any concerns, they monitor. They have great free breakfastes every day (much better than a traditional continental) and they have 2 or 3 nights of what they call Manager's Socials, which is basically a free supper as well. And the food room is large enough, so it doesn't get over crowded. The hotel is centrally located to many things, and really, I don't think you could get a better spot. 5 minutes walk to the Parliament, about 7 minutes to the Rideau Centre, about 10 minutes to the Byward Market, about 20 minutes to the Nature Museum etc.. Liquor store is about a 4 minute walk, convenient store is about 2 minutes away, and if you want to do a small grocery (since there is a kitchen in the room) it's only about 5 minutes away. Or, the hotel will do your grocery for you for free. The gym and pool are also decent. This is not a luxurious high end hotel, but it's clean, comfortable, nice, and the for the price and what you get (including the location), this hotel is excellent.
