Our family stayed at the Minto Suites hotel for an extended weekend (4 night) in January. Banking on this hotel's reputation, I was expecting a clean, well equipped environment.
A bit of old food under the side table was the first worrisome sign, but the used bandaid beside our bed was the last straw. In between the two extremes was the crackly, basically nonfunctional TV, and the $11 per day internet charge, which was bad enough, but, get this, this price was for ONE device. In a family of four these days, you can expect we have at least one blackberry, i-device, and laptop to get actual work done, but if we wanted everything to be online at all (not even at a time) we had to purchase each subscription separately.
Now, I've been to conferences in Ottawa at the absolute cheapest hotel that I could find, and the internet and basic cable there was free. And it worked. And the room was CLEAN.
I am very disappointed, and I cannot recommend that anyone stay at this hotel.

As for the internet, please note that although we charge for the internet like major hotels in Ottawa, we are providing our guests complimentary use of our Mac computer and printer in our lobby, in addition to our newly opened business center located on the second floor, equipped with a Mac computer, printer and boardroom for your service 24/7. I can appreciate that you expect more from Minto Suites Hotel, and I assure your experience during your stay is not typical or what we believe is acceptable. I appreciate you taking the time to articulate the details of your experience. I hope you will give us the opportunity to display to you our usually high service and not allow this isolated occurrence to deter you from returning to Minto Suite Hotel on your next visit to Ottawa.
