“Location but . . .”
As previous reviewers have said, this hotel is perfectly located to visit the Byward Market area and also the National Gallery. A bit pricey compared with similar chains (Best Western, Comfort, etc.) but I imagine that's because of the location. However, the room faced a concrete wall and the heat could not be turned off. Of course if you're staying one night, by the time you realize that, you're almost asleep. The staff were very pleasant and I'm sure they would have changed the room, but we were already in bed; it wasn't worth the bother at that point. The bathroom was spartan with, get this!, no fan. Excellent big king sized bed, small desk area, but again, good enough for a night on a tourist kind of visit, less so if you're working. In general, I'd hesitate to recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Courtyard Marriott Ottawa with other users of trip advisor!
We are pleased that the location of the hotel was up to your expectations! Some of our rooms do face the courtyard and unfortunately the view is not the best. On the other hand, these rooms tend to be quieter than the ones facing the street. The heating system has to be controlled from the panel located on the wall and not from the actual heating unit. Many people are mistaking while trying to adjust the temperature. Like you said, our staff can change you to another room if there’s any problem!
The price of our rooms fluctuates depending on the occupancy of the hotel. The prices will be higher is the hotel is busy. I suggest booking in advance to have a better rate. For example, we have weekend rates starting at just 129$ per night.
I would like to thank you once again for sharing your comment and we hope to have the chance to host you again soon.
