Wonderful rooms, great service, I don't have much else ot say. Overall it was a great experience. The location is nice because it's not right downtown, so depending on why you are visting Toronto, this hotel might be right for you.

This hotel promises many things such as : a great experience, great customer service, clean rooms etc . It is unfortunate that the word great is used to describe any of the characteristics of this hotel. The service at the front desk lacks sharpness, I was the only one waiting to be checked in and it took over 25 minutes ( I had already a reservation and a credit card on file)! I had requested a microwave and fridge in the room ( extra$) and when I got my room they I had to wait a few hours before getting them. The room smelled like the person who stayed there before and there was a weird smell ( something like cooked spinach) in the air... Nothing against spinach but I didn't particularly like the 24/7 smell. The carpet is not the nicest which is not really a problem but it looks dirty especially in the hallway. For the price that I paid ( which I was told was a discounted price) I'm disappointed. I spoke to another guest who paid about 30$ less per night than me ( from a discount website) and at that price I wonder if my disenchantment would have been as much as it is now. One thing that was very much enjoyable was the chicken quesadilla.

I stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. We received a nice room that was nicely furnished and updated. Our view was of the outdoor swimming pool which we did not use during our stay. Our room did not have a balcony but we did go into another couple's room which did have one. That room was clearly not as nice as ours. It appeared to be a bit outdated and old. I guess we were lucky with getting a nice room.

The lobby appeared to be updated with nice furnishings. The lobby was busy during both check-in and check-out. We waited about five to ten minutes in line. The front staff was courteous and everything went smoothly.

We stayed at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel for the weekend and were very pleased. I chose this hotel as a lower cost alternative to staying downtown. And I am very glad we did. It is older but very clean. The carpet in some of the hallways looks a little tired, but if this bothers you feel free to spend $200 to stay downtown in a smaller room compared to the $75 I paid here. The bed was absolutely wonderful, we slept very well. We had heard customer service was not good here, but that is not what we experianced at all. I had booked a room with a King size bed, when we got to room that is not what I got. When I called front desk they fixed immediately, in fact they had keys waiting for me by the time I came back to front desk. We also tried the breakfast buffet. It had closed about 5 mins. before we got there but they were very good about. Telling us to go ahead and serve ourselves as much as we would like because they were going to start taking down the buffet. In fact the server saw what I was eating and brought more of everything I had to make sure I had enough. All in all I would recommend this hotel it is in a good location to get around town is clean and inexpensive. A very rare find in Toronto!
