Like the other reviewers, we found ourselves caught out, needing a place on short notice in high season. Searching Trip Advisor we read the other review and decided to try the Coach Stop. Luckily, they had had a cancellation and we booked in for 2 nights. We got the 'worst' room- a lovely room with a 4-poster bed, Victorian armoire and a fireplace. It is the 'worst' because it is the smallest, and the private bath is just down the hall (the other guest rooms are en-suite, so you don't share the bath, and dressing gowns are provided in the wardrobe). We had stayed at the Crown Plaza in Toronto the night before and this room was *much* nicer.
The hosts are wonderful, the perfect balance between warm and welcoming and not being intrusive. Breakfast is served family style at 9am, which (according to other people we met) is usual in the N-O-T-L area. What is not usual (according to these same people) is a breakfast like the one we got! Our friends in other guest houses were jealous when they heard about it: the first morning we had a perfect fruit salad (blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, banana and mango, all fresh and perfectly ripe), cold cuts, spanking fresh steamed asparagus, and just-baked homemade quiche-lets that were amazingly light and fluffy. There was also cereal and assorted baked goodies if you wanted. It took about 2 minutes for the ice to be broken and people to start talking to each other- and what an interesting group- we were having such animated conversations that we had to pull ourselves away from the table.
The Inn has a 'games' room with workout equipment, glorious gardens, a heated swimming pool, and bicycles (and it's a great area for bicycling- the terrain is nearly flat, and it's quite safe). The Coach Stop is just outside of town, slipped in between 2 wineries and a fabulous fruit market. We were only there 2 days but came away feeling refreshed and restored. Two thumbs up!
