Just returned from 2 wonderfully relaxing days at The Blairpen House.
My wife and I wanted a very quiet getaway for two, and that is exactly what we had.
The tangled gardens and patio was as if it had been picked up from Southern France and dropped in Niagara on the Lake. No manicured gardens here, just lush masses of pots, plants, bamboo and a confusion of greensin the square. Very private balcony overlooking the central patio where you can just sit and relax and read your afternoon away (which is exactly what we did).
The rooms are very clean and a good size and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms are extremely clean with plenty of towels supplied every day.
Coffee and tea is set out at 7am every morning, which we had on our balcony while we read the morning paper.
Continental breakfast is served between 8and 10am. Breakfast included 3 varieties of cereal, fresh baked bread from the local bakery, yogurt, rolls , banana bread, ham and cheese if you so wished. Lots to choose from in a lovely dining area.
The 2 main rooms are warm and inviting and wonderfully decorated, not that we spent much time inside.
Tim, the owner was a wondeful host with always time to stop and chat during his busy day whether he was off to the local blueberry patch to purchase a large basket of berries for the next mornings fruit bowl offering at breakfast or offering an idea as to where to go for dinner.
The Inn is a short walk to the Festival Theatre and Main Street with its many Shoppes and Restaurants.
Overall, I would suggest The Blairpen House to anyone that wants to get away and just relax.
