We were delighted to find this comfortable and very reasonable B&B during peak season while we were in town to attend plays in the Shaw Festival. The modern home is on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the center of town. The rate was $90 per night and included a lovely breakfast with fresh fruit, fresh baked croissants, and a hot main dish.
Our queen bedded room was a good size and the adjacent bath was large. The bath is shared with the one other twin-bedded guest room. The hosts' living quarters are separate, and guests have use of a large library with a TV, books, and comfortable couches looking out on a deck with an attached gazebo where we were served iced lemonade in the afternoon. There was a heat wave during our stay, and we really appreciated the central air conditioning.
Henry and Irene Epp are interesting and helpful. They recommended local restaurants and called to find the times ships were going through the Welland Canal locks. He is a retired Biology teacher but they spent several years in Africa where he taught college students. They bought their home in 1965, and the tasteful decor reflects their travels. We appreciated the convenience, quiet, and plentiful parking.
