We stayed here on the weekend of Oct 21-22, and while the weather was terrible, the B & B was charming. Our room, which was the same as the first reviewer, was beautiful. While the entrance to the B & B has "kitschy" decorations, like a stuffed bear and a dress dummy with a costume, the room was lovely, with a gas fireplace, a big airjet tub in the bathroom (which we never had a chance to try out), and a huge bed. (It was cold, and we could have used some warmer blankets.) We could see the lake, and the small pretty garden through the big window. If the weather was nicer, there were lots of comfy chairs on the porch to sit on, and some of the guests had shared a bottle of wine sitting outside watching the huge waves and drinking a bottle of wine they had bought while wine touring. Only the the "lady" of the house was around on the weekend - her husband, who seemed to be the regular cook, was away for the weekend. She is interesting, quite opinionated, but friendly, and helpful with reservations and recommendations. The only odd thing, which is maybe a B & B phenomenon, is that breakfast at 9am, and if you are late, it is clearly disapproved. I think that the husband normally does the cooking, and she was a bit embarrassed about her skills, but we certainly didn't starve. All guests sit together, and the host made a point of suggesting that we introduce ourselves, which got the conversation going. The other guests included second timers and friends of relatives, as well as people like us who had found about the place on the internet. The location is great - its really pretty and you are within easy walking distance to plays and all the cute shopping. We would definitely come again.
