Lo-o-o-ng story short...Booked a B&B for a couple and pre-teen. Arrived Niagara-on -the Lake, height of the season...stopped at Chamber of Commerce...B&B not to be found. The name sounded like "Heron House" so went there, knocked on door, Katherine heard our story, soothed our anxiety, had room so we stayed. She spent two days trying to find our "Mysterious" B&B, no luck. Besides all that...Heron House was simply the finest B&B ever, Katherine's truely gourmet breakfasts served with old silver and candles. Rooms (only 2!) each w/HUGE Bathroom are beautifully light, floral without being fussy, two, perfect firm (not hard) beds are a double & a 3/4, very spacious rooms, all for $130 CAD per night.
We biked the orchards and vineyards, saw "Pygmalion" at the Shaw Festival, drove down to the Falls...a perfect trip! Oh, that missing B&B?? Turned out it was in Niagara, USA and not on any list..my bad, had to pay for one night, owner very understanding.
