The Olde Angel Inn is a treasure in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It reminds me of some of the oldest pubs in central London that survived the great fire of 1666. The service is generally quite good but occasionally slow (similar to in England), the portions are generous and delicious and the adjoining inn is remarkably well-kept and charming. The location is in downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake, making it easy to tour the area on foot. This place doesn't boast itself as a luxury accommodation or upscale restaurant, but it certainly fills a lovely niche in the historic town: go if you're up for a few pints, a convivial atmosphere, don't mind a little bit of noise and music, and want some comfort English food.
