If you want to have a relaxing vacation where you are treated like special guests in a stunning house that you'll soon want to call your home away from home, then please look no further!!! Not only will Butler Creek B&B live up to your highest expectations, but it is by far the best B&B I have ever stayed at... and I have stayed at dozens of B&B all over the United States and Europe... but nothing comes close to the warmth, hospitality and charm of this house and its hostess!
My first visit to Butler Creek B&B was back in 2003 (for two weeks in April) and I have been a steady, annual customer ever since (coming in all seasons! It's beautiful any time year!). First, there's the hostess, Linda Jeffries. She is by far the friendliest, funniest most helpful B&B hostess you'll ever have the pleasue to meet. Linda clearly loves people and loves her job because she not only offers service with a smile and will accommodate your every need, but she has spared no expense when it comes to making her guests feel welcome and pampered. This includes ultra modern suites (not bedrooms, but gorgeous suites!) equipped with Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a fireplace, sitting room and super comfy beds with plush pillows and fresh linens. The bathrooms (with jacuzzi!) are spotless and loaded with toiletries and plush towels.
Not only is Linda a cheerful hostess, but she's an excellent cook who will make sure you do not leave her breakfast table hungry. (Her menu includes your choice of eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, pancakes, freshly baked muffins and fresh fruit and granola with a huge variety of special teas and coffee.) While you're eating breakfast, you will look out onto a gigantic private treed back yard with a huge deck complete with hot tub that is a must!!! The house itself is stunning. I call it 'Tara' because it reminds of a mini Gone With The Wind southern plantation house. It is a beautifully appointed home accented with a black wrought iron fence and circular driveway, located at the end of a quiet street, next to a ravine and historical Niagara landmark. (It's so tranquil here... you'll sleep like a baby!)
As for proximity, you get the best of both worlds - it's located in the Olde Towne, just far enough away to be peaceful - but only a 10 minute walk to the main street with restaurants, shops and the famous Shaw Festival. A further 10 minute walk will take you to Fort George and the Niagara River, facing the USA. A short drive in any direction from Linda's house will take you to one of a dozen vineyards for a wine tour. (Linda has been a long time resident of NOTL and helps update the annual town map, so she knows about every business and landmark in town, which is why she can help you with all your sightseeing and outings, but she also has tons of vouchers for restaurants and wineries that she offers to guests to help save them some money. Once, when I was visiting, she had tickets to a Shaw Festival play that she couldn't use so she offered them to her guests for free!! She is truly so generous and kind hearted. You cannot ask for more.... but if you do ask for more, I promise she'll give it.)
I really cannot say enough about this place or Linda's hospitality. I also cannot imagine why anyone would stay anywhere else after staying here! This is a gem of a place. Once you come, I promise you will be a lifetime customer like me. But don't take my word for it... take some time to read the rest of the trip advisor reviews of this place. There isn't a bad thing anyone can say because Linda makes sure your stay here is special. More importantly, when you leave you will feel like it's your home, too, which is why you'll come back, because Linda will make you feel welcome in your home away from home.
