“NEVER AGAIN!!”

Just back from an overnight stay with my friend here. We're locals, who visit & stay in the Falls often. I usually stay at the Hilton, but wanted to give this hotel a try. BAD IDEA! The room was SO hot even at 65, with the windows cracked open. The heat couldn't be lowered further. Had a hard time falling asleep in the stuffy room. Vending machines aside from the LL level, were credit card only, which is a No-no. It's located 2 blocks from the falls, but in the middle of nowhere & definitely wouldn't feel safe walking around at night. Not a very well lit location. Room service hadn't cleared trays out in the hallway by 10:30 am from the previous night. Not exactly sanitary. The only positive was free wifi. What a mistake staying here. I'll stay at the Hilton from now on. Definitely not worth the $. Don't bother.

Room Tip: We had a 2 Queen room, US fallsview. That was the ONLY good thing.

Thank you for providing feedback on your stay. We are disappointed to learn of any failures on our part. Your comments are a suprise having noted that you did have the window vent part open for outside air. It could be your stay was over one of the unusual warm weather winter days we have experienced in the area. As a local your comment on the location is a bit surprising. Being located within the Casino district, our area has extra police coverage from the Casino unit, in addition to the nearby Niagara Parks Police and the regular Niagara Regional police. The Regional police have a small satlelight office in our lobby level, and as such we have an extraordinary police presence. There are no events which would suggest the area is not safe at night. Niagara Falls is and remains a safe, family friendly destination.

We use our room for more than sleeping, but what an awesome bed! Another light by the sofa would have been nice. Fridge was handy, micro would have been nice. Very quiet on the 18th floor. Did not get to the spa or restaurants, maybe next time

“Loved the rustic, country feel. Very different vibe for Niagara Falls”

In the winter time we often take little weekend getaways to Niagara Falls because the pricing is reasonable and it feels like a little break from city life. (We are from Toronto) I have stayed at many hotels at Niagara falls and have always wanted to stay at the Double Tree Fallsview Resort and Spa but it is more expensive than other hotels during peak season. We stayed on one of their packages that also provided us with dinner and breakfast at the Buchannan restaurant located in the hotel.

The ambiance of the hotel is great. The lobby is grande and gorgeous. Has such a rustic, "ski lodge" feel. Very clean and spotless. We loved the huge fireplace. Check in was easy. Service was friendly enough. Our room was nice. It had windows all around so we had a great view. The bed was comfortable and clean. We found the washroom to be lacking a bit in cleanliness. (hairs on floor and in tub) and there were some stains on the carpets. However, the room in general was quite clean and smelt fresh.

We throughly enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast at Buchannan's. The food was fresh and tasty. Service at dinner was much better than at breakfast. We enjoyed our weekend away and would return on a package deal.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your comments. I apologize for the housekeeping issues you encountered while a guest at our hotel, and will be sure to pass your comments on to our team. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed our "relaxed, resort atmoshpere" and that you will be back again. The packages are a great deal. Our spa package is quite popular with our city guests wanting to get away and relax. Our prices do reflect the season and during July and August would be at their peak. The last part of August we do have summer end specials and if you avoid a Saturday night you might be able to find great prices at our hotel. The great thing about our location is that most of our guests just leave their cars here and walk to everything. Eary June and September are also great months to visit and we look forward to your return. Be sure to let the staff know when making reservations that you are a repeat guest.

“Hotel Nice, Nice Price, Location On Fallsview So So”

I'm here on business and have found the rooms clean and comfortable. Nice layout, my room is pretty standard- nothing overly luxurious, but the furniture is new, clean, comfortable. It is quite a ways away from the falls in an area that is downtrodden looking, so if you're here to do the tourist stuff and do some strolling, this may not be the hotel for you. If you want to be away from the tourist hubub, but still close to the falls, in comfort, then this is the hotel for you.

“A very nice hotel with comfy beds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

It was a last minute decision to stay at this hotel since we originally had booked a room at a motel nearby which turned out to be a horrid place.

We called late in the evening and got their last room with 2 queen beds on the 14th floor for $129 with a nice view of the city and the American falls. The reception area gave a very cozy feeling to this hotel with comfy couches and fireplace. We were handed warm chocolate chip cookies upon check-in. Staff was very friendly. Love the 'Sweet Dreams" embroidered pillow on each bed which was a very nice touch. The Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries were also nicely scented (mild, not overpowering). The bed is soft yet firm and very comfortable. We liked that the wifi was included in the price. All these nice touches made this hotel a very comfortable place to stay in Niagara Falls.

Parking was $12 for the day. It was slightly chaotic because there was a wedding on the premises and their guests parked at the main lot (instead of Lot B) and took up all the spaces meant for guests actually staying at the hotel. That said, the reception was very accommodating and helpful, and allowed us to park at a spot that is not really a parking spot.

I would highly recommend this hotel.
