Stayed a few nights in an "efficiency suite" which has a small kitchenette. It was quiet, not very busy (we were there weeknights). Modest place but clean enough... comfortable and best of all the proprietors were so kind, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice too: tickets for a tasty, well-prepared basic meat, eggs, toast, potatoes & coffee offering (with some choices) at the restaurant across the road. Only suggestion I can imagine to improve that would be a couple healthier substitution options like juice, fresh fruit or yogurt & muesli for instasnce but one can always order & pay for extras on the menu if one wants them, and frankly with the kitchenette, plus a grocery store nearby we didn't really need a breakfast... but it was a very convenient comfort.
The room was spacious, the bed firm & comfy, bedding clean (always important), toilet, sinks, shower & TV worked fine, there were a couple fans -- one a window unit with cooling option, the other in the bathroom (near the kitchen). Sara & Jolly lent us an electric heater b/c my g/f felt chilly at night (I felt fine without it). The kitchenette is small mind you, just the basics, but Sara & Jolly seemed only too happy to lend us things if we had need, so we had no worries.
The fold-out sofa was deep but that wasn't a problem -- only used it to sit & eat at the coffee table anyway. There seemed to always be someone in the office willing to help us if or when we had need -- they were such kind hosts. We definitely look forward to staying there again. Also I liked the location: close enough to catch a bus downtown but set in a quiet outside part of the city right near the river, a great place to go cycling. Grocery, pharmacy & laundry are conveniently near in the neighborhood.
