After arriving at Niagara Falls and originally intending to continue to Toronto, we fell in love with the falls themselves, and absolutely had to spend the night. We also decided it was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and decided to book the best hotel, and the best room we could find. We wanted an uninterupted view of the falls, so we surveyed the area from ground level. The Mariott seemed too close, and the Casino was booked out. The Hilton looked like the view would be obscured by the Embassy Suites, so that was where we headed.
We searched rooms online, and found the Presidential Suite was going to guarantee us the best view possible. It was running at about $545 CAD, but seemed totally worth it.
After a mix up at check in with our room having being assigned to someone else, we were given a room on the 41st floor (there are 42 floors in the hotel). It was a corner suite and the view we were greeted with was AMAZING!!. Panoramic views of the falls from the bedroom, with floor to ceiling windows. It was breathtaking.
The suite was very spacious, with master bedroom (complete with fireplace) and the bathroom had a spa tub with windows that opened into the bedroom. There was a separate living area with dining table, and two sofas that were sofa beds. The room could effectively sleep 6 comfortable. There were 4 of us - my parents in the master bedroom, and my partner and I with a sofa bed each.
The only criticisms I have about the hotel is the lack of wifi in the rooms (at these rates there should be wifi in more than just the lobby or dining floor), and the vending machines on the floors only accept the hotels tokens, which cost you $3 a piece. Nice little money maker for them.
For an experience to remember, I would definitely spend the money and stay at the Embassy Suites. It's a night we won't forget!
