We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to Clifton Hill and other area attractions. The location was fantastic, we were walking distance to just about everything we wanted. The hotel also has a continental breakfast which is bare minumum, but we aren't picky people so it did the trick. I got to the hotel at 12:30, given I had seen they weren't sold out the night before I asked nicely if I could check-in early. I couldn't be checked-in at 12:30, I was told there was nothing clean, however I gave them the cash for my room and also got the surprise of a charge for parking. I came back at 2 and was told I couldn't get in (which is check-in time), I was also told the same at 3, and again at 4. That was the point where I was going to need to talk to a manager. The manager/supervisor, offered me a jacuzzi suite as a coplimentary upgrade...that's where the fun started. When we got up to the room I instantly noticed dings on the furniture, spots on the carpets, a small old television, fingerprints on the mirrors above the bed...yes there were mirrors above the bed...this room was more like fear and loathing than a suite. There was no shower... you were expected to only use the jacuzzi tub to clean yourself, which happened to be conveniently located in the middle of the floor with no curtains...or shower, just a hand held nozzle. To call this room a suite was a joke, there was no fridge, no sitting area, nothing that would merit the title of a suite. The front desk staff was unaware they were in the hospitality businees, never a greeting when walknig through the lobby, not so much as a nod. The only front desk person that was decent was the younger bearded gentleman at night. And the only place in the hotel the wireless worked was in the lobby... If I come to the area again I would definitely look elsewhere, but if need be, I would stay at this hotel again.
