My girlfriend and I stayed here on February 10, 2012 for an early valentines day getaway through a Jaunt offer that gave us a 2 bedroom suite on the 43rd floor of the North Tower, $40 voucher for the Brasa Steakhouse and breakfast at the Grand Caffe.
The view from the room was amazing, probably the best in Niagara Falls. The room was huge and a perfect choice if you are with another couple or your kids as there is a door between bedrooms for privacy and the shade comes down to the big bathroom thank-god. There is a very nice jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a shower but the water pressure in the shower isnt the greatest. The main bedroom has a very comfortable bed with good quality linens and blankets with a couch, reading desk, chair and a fireplace but its purely decorative, no heat comes out. A very nice plus was it has 2 flat screen tv's which is standard these days at most hotels BUT they also give a dozen or so HD channels which is not common. The reception comes from a US satellite provider Dish network. The hotel was apparantly full but we didnt hear any noise. We ate at the Brasa Brazillian Steakhouse and it was awesome. There is a buffet with about 70 items to choose from, seafood, salad and at your table you flip over a coaster and the waiters serve you from a skewer over 7 different kinds of meat, chicken, steak, sausages. It is a bit pricey though, with our $40 voucher it still cost us $93 with 2 drinks but it was delicious. We never ate at the Grand Caffee but went for brunch at an awesome restaurant on Lundy's lane called Mick and Angelos. Huge portions good quality food for a good price. Adam Richmond from Man vs Food was there.
Items that could be improved is that the room does not provide a fridge, if you want one you have to talk to housekeeping and depending on who you talked to the prices varied. In the winter dont sit too close to the window because you can feel some of the cold seep in. The Hilton is aware of this and posted in the room that they are in the process of recaulking all the rooms. You'll notice when you take a shower that water will spill out onto the floor through the space between the glass and the shower stall.
The extra costs I mentioned in the heading are if you want to use your smartphone, computer or tablet to surf on their wifi, its going to cost you $9/a day or $15 a week to use it which is way too much considering a lot of hotels offer this free.
If you are going to use their valet parking. Its going to run you $25 plus a $4 parking tax AND there is a $5 charge for some Niagara Falls entertainment fee or something like that, I guess its to pay for the fireworks on the weekend. If its busy like it was for us you'll waiting around 30mins or so for your car. Save yourself the cash and park behind Margaritaville which is diagonal from the hotel its $5 a day, a 5 min walk away. Thats what we are going to do next time.
Overall we had a great time and would come back.
