“Never again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We arrived to this hotel for New Years Eve. Upon arrival, we were told that they wanted a $200 deposit on top of our room cost. The policy is $100 deposit if you are using cash or debit. I used my credit card and still ended up putting a $100 cash deposit down, after a disagreement with the clerk. The carpet in the room had a hole in it, the balcony door didn't lock properly, they had a stick in the track to help keep it locked, the tub didn't drain properly, the tub tiles had mildew on them. I will never return to this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone

“Good For Partying”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

This hotel is good if you're going with friends to party at the local bars and do some pre-drinking.

Mattresses were dirty (seriously, there was brownish-red staining on the side of both of them). I'm sure that when you're drunk you won't be paying attention to that.

The weekend we went the hotel was full of young people looking for a good time. At 3am, there was people visiting hotel rooms and shouting. Excellent for mingling with the bar-goers.

This place is no good for families. Too loud, too much commotion. Your kids will not sleep, you will be grossed out by the mattresses, etc.

A warning to those looking to be loud after 10pm, there is some sort of hall monitor (whom we nicknamed Paul Blart) who walks the halls and comes knocking when its loud. However, if there are other rooms being equally loud, he'll have a hard time keeping up and you'll get away with it ;)

The air conditioning was great, the beds ridiculously comfortable (despite questionable sanitation), and the front desk lady was reasonably friendly.

Major complaint is that they complain about ice in this place. You have to go to the front desk to get it, and they limit how much you can take at a time. These guys are very stingy with the ice, and when you've got two rooms and six people trying to make drinks, that can be problematic.

Also, no fridge in the rooms. Online it said there would be fridges in the rooms, and there wasn't.

Again, families won't enjoy this place. However, the younger crowd that's just looking to have a good time will probably find this place suits them perfectly (price and accommodation wise).

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor are quieter.

“A pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

The worst thing about this hotel is trying to find it. Buried off of busy Victoria down an alleyway looked suspect at first. However we were pleasantly surprised with both service and quality of the room standards. The front desk staff and maid service staff were very friendly and approachable. The room was clean and a good size. We went with another couple and the hotel was very accomodating in putting us together. About a quarter of a block from busy Clifton Hill and a ten dollar cab ride to the falls. Would definitely stay again. The hotel does offer wifi in part of the hotel and has an indoor pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a better view. Many interior rooms face the recycle bins

“ideal location but needs serious updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 June 2011

customer service was great...check in time was 3 pm and they let us check in at 11 a.m. Some sites list a free continental breakfast but none is provided. Location is awesome..1 min. walk to clifton hill, less than 5 min walk to maid of the mist, 25 min walk to horseshoe falls. Rooms need help, clean but springy old bed and only 4 channels so not ideal for kids....pool is not even worth it. There wasnt any noise problems or rowdy kids and we were there on a Saturday night. Free parking and internet. Great price and location if ur just looking for a place to sleep.

“Drug infested. Unsafe hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2011

We pre booked two nights here as the advertizement looked great. However we left after one night as this hotel had strong smell of hash in our non smoking room an along the corrridors. Obvious drug dealings going on at the parking lot. In front of the hotel managment. Managment are rude and unreasonable. We asked for a refund for the night that we were not staying as we felt very unsafe. We are visiting Canada from Ireland. They would not refund our money even tho we were not staying the night, . They would not allow us to speak to the manager. We called the police who said that they could not help us even tho drugs were going on right in front of them .. Do not stay here . Bed bugs and dirty bathroom and sheets,

Room Tip: Walk to nice hotels and negotiate rate
