“Disappointing and definitely not about comfort or standard needs of their guests.”
We visited on Saturday December 3 2011 with our two young daughters (3&6) and planned on a weekend of fun. That is not what happened. The noise level was beyond imaginable. We faced on to the pool area that is open until 11pm, I don't think the noise would have been that bad if it wasn't filled with about 40 9-13year old girls screaming and completely unsupervised. At 10:30 we called to see if there was something that could be done to manage the noise and were told no and the pool closes at 11. They had no concern or regard for our comfort. At 11, the pool area closed. This just meant that all the kids were now running in the hall. They had all their doors propped open as they ran back and forth, laying in the halls, screaming and laughing. We called twice more to the desk. I was told that " most of these guests do not have adults with them therefor it makes it difficult to manage them" What? Kids with no adults? I asked her how that was legal to rent rooms to minors and she simply apologized and that was that. At 1230 am, the noise had not decreased. It was crazy. Wild. I've never experienced noise like this. My husband went out to the hall. There were 12 kids sitting around our door. He needed to step over them. When he spoke to the manager, he said that we could change rooms. We didn't want to do this at 12:30 am, we wanted them to manage their under age guests. There is no point in changing rooms in a place where 13 year olds are running all over the place, all through the hotel. At that moment, a bunch of screaming girls ran through the lobby chasing each other and landed on the couches where they layed down. The night manager did absolutely nothing. No back bone and had no desire to take control over this place. There was nothing he could do. My husband said we were leaving, driving 3 hours back home with our two children and he said "ok" that's it. OK.
We left. We packed up and arrived home at 3:30 am. The disappointment telling my children that we were leaving and couldn't do the fun things we had planned was heart breaking.
I have stayed in numerous hotels all over North America and have never experienced anything close to this. In fact, this is my first review. I will never stay at a Comfort inn again and will stick to the Sheridan when in Niagara.
Below your lowest expectations. Certainly sets a low bar.
