“Room ok, Service mediocre”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Room was clean and nice, Breakfast nothing to remember and service mediocre. Problem is that the personnel misses any charm and is pretty rude -- except at the reception desk. The gym is a joke. A tiny room with 3 machines and a normal TV in a very bad maintenanced room. If you look for a good and clean room you should go there but do not expect anything more. By the way: while they have a incredible wine card the open wine is not recommendable.

“A wonderful place for a weekend getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I booked this hotel for me and my husband as a surprise as we were married there eight years ago. The girl at the front desk was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our room. I had wanted a room with a balcony and a west view for the sunset and she made it happen. This would be a great place to stay if you were here on business too as it has a complete kitchen with a few dishes etc. Even had a mini washer/dryer. Its like a tiny home away from home with a separate living space. We had breakfast in the Breakwater restaurant which was very good and the girl who served us was great. The only not so great experience was when we went to the bar for a cocktail, you see the room was part of a weekend deal I had purchased online and we had coupons for the cocktails, understandably there was a limit on the price of the drink we could order but we got a bit of a cold feeling from the waiter when we showed him the coupons and he never did come back to see if we would like a second or if there was anything else we wanted. Overall I really enjoyed our stay!

“Fantastic restaurant, so so hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary recently and did the whole package - dinner at the Breakwater and a night at the hotel. For the first four hours it was perfect.

The restaurant is great and we will return. Service is top drawer, the food is well thought out, prepared and served - and the ambiance is perfect. All I can say is, is "wow"....can't wait to go back. Amazing experience and worth every penny.

The hotel on the other hand left us unhappy and I will be staying elsewhere next time I visit the restaurant. The rooms are spotless and well thought out. But on the night of our stay, they rented the room next to us to a university student and 50 of her friends. I can't tell you how loud it was. There's no way front desk staff could not see these large groups of people coming/going, with the only elevator bank in the hotel right next to front reception.

We called down to front reception to voice our concern about the noise but the lady who answered would not come up to investigate the matter, and I can't say I blame her. Not with that crowd. It was so bad that one of the partiers tried to get into our room...but eventually just stole the 'do not disturb' sign and left. So it was a restless night. My suggestion? If you're trying to cater to everyone - the ones who want a romantic quiet evening - and the ones who want to party - then employ some hotel security. I find this inexcusable.

My other suggestions? Upgrade the 1990 tvs to flat screens with some video on demand movies. Also, please note there is no indoor parking offered as per their website (we were told we had to park across the street). The hotel is not 20 minutes from Toronto unless you break the speed of light, allow a good 35 minutes at normal speed. However, having said that, the restaurant is most definitely worth the drive.

“Cannot find a single thing to complain about”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

Stayed for 2 nights... wedding on Friday night and running away from hustle bustle of Toronto on Saturday night. Photos are of room 302. It's a king size bedroom on the building corner. Built in balcony and fireplace. Checkin was efficient and so was checkout. The lack of minibar was definitely a plus for BYOB habits. OBTW, the nightly chocolates on bedside is great.

“Wonderful location for our little reunion!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Although lovely weather also helped, the Waterside Inn played an important part in our recent successful mini-reunion. We (my sister & I) drove our mother from Ottawa to Mississauga to visit her sister, who joined us for a two-day getaway at this lovely hotel. The immaculate 2-bedroom residence suite was beautifully decorated, overlooked a wonderful view of the waterfront, and was very comfortable for the four of us. Even more important, our accommodation had a kitchen, as well as a sitting room and dining area large enough to allow us to host two cherished long-time friends for a little lunch and afternoon visit. These friendships go back to the 1930’s and it had been many years since the four had been together.

It was so relaxing to be in our own private “apartment” rather than a restaurant. Our kitchen facility was excellent. Although there were limited dishes & utensils on hand when we arrived, we were told just to ask for whatever else we needed. As promised, our requests were promptly and cheerfully met. The Waterside Inn personnel - the reservation agent, the lovely women at reception and the lady from housekeeping, were without exception friendly and helpful.

Our mother, aunt and their two long-time friends had such a happy time, chatting over lunch and tea for hours. These golden girls (aged 85 to 93) still have their sparkle, even if the pace has slowed … just a little.

We were all so impressed with the Waterside Inn - the warm welcome, the cleanliness, the excellent service and our beautiful accommodation! Thank you for helping to make our reunion so memorable.
