“Would stay here again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This is not a fancy hotel, but it suits us for its location and convenience. We stayed here for one night in December 2010 and one night in July 2011. It's close to main highways and fairly close to the airport and many restaurants. It's very convenient having the fridge and microwave, although we didn't have much in the way of dishes or utensils in our room. The staff is courteous, the bed was comfortable, the internet worked and the breakfast was better than many I've had. Great value.

“My second time here; definitely not my last!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

I stayed here last year, and was ecstatic with my room; 2 plasma tv's kitchenne, jacuzzi, desk, living room/dining room...etc.
I stayed a second time this weekend. The first room #118 had a tiny old tv, and no working cable, and the bathtub was a little dirty. I told the ladies at the desk and they immediately gave me room #326. One plasma, but everything else was great. The fridge was not so cold, so they brought me a new one, and the cleaning lady came to sweep the dust behind the old fridge. Really nice and I had a private, comfortable stay. I smelled smoke alot; it could be that someone was smoking next door, and shouldn't have been.
Guys, the room was $90 bucks The breakfast, wifi, and parking is free. It's an apartment, not a room. There is a computer downstairs with a free printer, and laundry facilites. It's an awesome value!
There is no timehsare in Toronto, and this is the closest thing for people who are spoiled with timeshare condos. To rent a condo like that is generally $150 plus parking, so I don't know why there are any bad reviews. Yes, sometimes we get checked into mistake rooms at first; so just ask to be moved. It's life.
By the way; front desk girls from Sept 3rd... I'm sorry I was so grouchy the first day. I came to town to clean out my late father's basement, and I had just driven from London after having spent the last 3 days going through all our family memories. You were awesome and it's not your fault the cable was not working in room 118! I hope I didn't ruin your shift with my miserable attitutde. I was a mess.
Hope you like the chocolate; I'm not good with apologies but I like to bribe with food!!
Be back next year!

“Absolutely Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Let me first summarize my stay at Sandalwood Suites Hotel, following the two weeks I have just spent there with my wife and two children: Absolutely Outstanding. This is of course due to two factors:

First, the hotel in general was excellent, surpassing my expectations following the excellent reviews and opinions I read on the internet. This includes the reception area, the courtyard, and the suite, were we stayed, which consisted of a kitchenette, and a bedroom and a living room separated by a sliding door. The kitchenette had a fridge, a stove and a microwave. The living room contains a sofa bed, a desk, and an LCD TV. There was a second TV in the bedroom. My kids, as well as my wife and I really enjoyed the private beautifully landscaped courtyard, which contained a fish pond.

Second, the staff and service were really excellent. This included the service at the reception area, the breakfast area and house-keeping. I have to mention a few by name for their superb service: Miss Megan at the reception desk and, Miss Jian and Miss Narinder at the kitchen. They went out of their way to see that we were not lacking anything.

I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Room Tip: All rooms are suites consisting of a kitchenette, living room and bedroom.

Thank you for this kind review. Your description of the property was amazing to read and we are happy that it fit your needs. Our courtyard gives us something that you don't get at other hotels in the area. A nice quiet setting to enjoy with family and friends that has received great comments. The staff never get tired of hearing how we surpassed expectations of our visitors, so thank you for that.

“Outstanding Stay, we will be back!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2011

The motel was excellent. The staff and service was outstanding. The room was nice and very functional. The ability to close the bedroom off from the main living area was a big plus so that people were able to sleep in while others able to be up and watching t.v. or doing whatever. There is a lovely courtyard for guests to relax in with a fish pond for the kids to feed the fish in. The only thing in my opinion that would make the courtyard more relaxing would be the addition of a small waterfall in the pond area. The breakfast that was offered free of charge was unbelievable. Not just cold cereals or toast, but also hot foods such as waffles and bacon, muffins, bagels, the list just goes on. Our room was clean and the set up was nice. There is a fridge and microwave and cooktop in the rooms which cut down on the cost of our holidays. The staff was always there to help, but they were not a pain. They respected our privacy but were available to help right away without delay when I asked for something. It is quite hard to keep this review objective because the stay was outstanding. To keep things fair I will say that the one downfall was that the hotel was a little out of the way. But on the plus side of that, the neighborhood was very quite and felt very safe. We live out of the city so that was actually a big plus for us. But it was a bit of a hike to the downtown area. Overall the stay was outstanding as we will be back each and everytime we stay in Toronto.

Room Tip: Talk to the staff and let them know what you want. They will do their best to satisfy your needs.

“Okay for a night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

The hotel was clean and comfortable. I finally figured out the tv table was on wheels with the cords tied together and just long enough that you could swivle it to watch in bed. The bathroom fixtures were getting old and starting to show discolouration and cracking. The bed was also rather hard. Overall the room was just fine, with lots of space, but nothing special. The free parking and internet were nice and check in was smooth. Breakfast was also pretty good.

The main downside was the smell in the halls and behavoir of some of the other guests. The hall still has a slightly smokey smell despite the no smoking rules (it seemed to be left over in the carpets). I also seemed to have been visiting during some family reunion being held at the hotel. The families seemed to collectively place a low value on women and treat the women in their families as such. This put a rather large damper on my stay and breakfast experience. Hopefully this isn't normal guest behavoir for the resort.
