The Novotel provided a good, basic hotel experience. The rooms was clean, modern and comfortable. The service was pleasant and efficient. There was nothing wrong, but also nothing that was impressive. Perhaps that is more of an indictment on Mississauga. It felt like the hotel was in a city that isn't really a city at all, but instead a collection of tall apartment and office buildings. There were no Starbucks to be found and pretty much nothing else that would cause you to want to be in Mississauga. The fitness room in the hotel was small and spartan, but there was a racquetball court (go figure). The whirlpool and pool were basic. There are no worthwhile views from the hotel -- nothing to see for miles. And, the hotel restaurant was absolutely nothing to write home about (I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner there and was unimpressed each time with both the food and the service). This is my only time staying in the Toronto area, and I would be highly unlikely to return. There is nothing technically wrong with this hotel, so if you are traveling on business it is okay. However, if you are on a pleasure trip, I have to believe that a hotel in downtown Toronto would be measurably better.
