I'd been doing some business in London and noticed this hotel/motel on my way in one time. Went inside, asked for brochure & rates, looked around. What a deal... spotless, friendly, personal (London was once a major air field and the owner is obviously proud of this history, as can be seen by the paintings of various militry aircraft in the halls). There is a fireplace in the lobby and a bowl of apples from a local orchard at the desk.
The rooms are not fancy but extremely well laid out for a business traveller -- a real table and chairs for working at or eating, a comfy couch to watch TV, instead of sitting on the bed, a very large ledge for your luggage, as well as the usual full size ironing board and a microwave & small fridge. And that's just the standard room which at the time was $88. A full hot breakfast is included and free parking.
OK, you then have to drive downtown, but the savings are so great and the comfort is so superior that it wasn't a problem for me. I stayed there a few times and was very happy.
If you're just passing through on the 401 it's also good because it's pretty fast to get to, with no traffic. Note that this is NOT a location for honeymooners.
