I was storm stayed in London after arriving into the London Airport, but had anticipated this from the weather reports, and had a reservation before arriving. The plane landed after midnight due to flight delay, I found that although they call themselves the Airport Inn, there was no shuttle provided even for payment.
On a stormy night taxis were in short supply, so although the Inn is about 10 minutes from the Airport, I didn't arrive and check-in until about 1:30 a.m.
Check-in was prompt, and I was told that the included breakfast closed at 9:30 a.m., and did I want a wakeup call?
The room was large and there was a small apartment size fridge with a microwave on top, a couple of chairs and a desk. The empty fridge was an older model that rattled, and so I unplugged it before going to bed. The floor covering was beige tile, rough to the touch and gritty with dirt. My white socks were immediately made black. A large TV faced the bed but the remote didn't function - one had to get up and go to the TV to change channels. There was a generous sized bench for the suitcase in the closet, under a few of those annoying clothes hangers that don't come away from the pole, one has to disconnect them. The bed linens were clean and the bed medium firm. The window covering had a blackout backing so the street lights didn't bother, and the room was able to be nice and dark for sleeping.
In the bathroom there was a sign stuck to the mirror cautioning guests not to steal the towels, which I thought a bit tacky. In the bathroom also I noticed that the floor wasn't clean, and the woodwork, tiles, fixtures and counter appeared to be cheap and "home done", not professionally installed, with gaps, extra bits of wood nailed here and there, and spots painted over.
Back in the room, I looked for an outlet to plug in a charger and moved the fridge away from the wall...behind the fridge was ages of dust and garbage!
The next morning the hot breakfast was satisfactory with eggs, bacon, pancakes, muffins, toast, juice or fruit and the breakfast area was quite new, airy and had lots of natural light. The wakeup call is not automated, and came about 10 minutes late from the front desk.
As I waited for the storm to abate I sat in the breakfast area and read one of the 3 free newspapers there, and drank coffee which is provided all day. About 11:30 a.m. a group of workmen arrived and catered sandwiches arrived for them. They quickly finished, and then left.
There is no cafe or restaurant in the hotel, and no restaurants immediately near. It was now after noon. I didn't relish trying my luck walking on the snowy roads to find a cafe or calling a taxi to do so, but the front office manager offered me a leftover sandwich from the group which had just departed. That was very kind of her.
In general, this establishment is well run. They have housekeeping issues, and the rooms have not been updated, just patched repeatedly, and need to be redone. The public areas are quite new and cleaner than the rooms.
As a place to stay for one night, it was satisfactory. As an older woman travelling alone I felt perfectly safe. I thought as they charged my card, for what they provide, $97 / night is a bit steep.

I had a very early flight and needed to be next to the airport. The hotel was very clean with large rooms. I would not stay there for a vacation – but for a quiet and clean room next to the airport it was perfect. They reserved a cab to pick me up in the morning and it was there on time. A breakfast bar included in the room price. At most hotels these are all you can eat. Here – they restricted you to “one serving”. I asked for a pancake and the person gave me exactly one pancake. Kind of strange. Over all – I was happy with the hotel.

The hotel is dated but the rooms are huge. Staff was OK The cold buffet in morning could have some more cereal to pick from or another type of muffin other than just the one. Maybe it was just he day. I think I am biased as my daughter broke her collar bone while we were there and no one cared. She is only 1 and she was not offered a play pen to sleep in and she slept in the bed not knowing they had play pens and she fell out of bed and broke her collar bone. The staff were more worried about writting up an incident report instead of how she was doing. No one from management has called to appoligize or see how she is doing. Would I stay here again ? Probabley not after the lack of response from management.

Have been visiting London every year for many years. Usually stay at the Airport Inn. Great service, rooms and breakfast.
Easy to get to. Convenient to where we want to go. 4 stars.
