This is the second Hampton Inn I've stayed in and will absolutely continue to look for these hotels when travelling. I travelled with my family of 9 adults and 1 infant for a quick weekend visit to London. All of us have no issues or complaints with this hotel. The check-in was efficient and prompt; we all got the rooms we had booked. One couple had requested a crib (playard) for their room. Although the hotel did not receive the request from Expedia when I booked the rooms, they quickly found a playard and delivered it to their room shortly after our arrival. The free breakfast was amazing, and included eggs/omelettes, bacon or sausage patties or ham, bagels, danishes, bread/toast, make your own waffles, fruit juices, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, coffees, milk... I don't even know if I covered it all. One of the best continental breakfasts I've ever had. There was a courteous attendant at the breakfast full time, ensuring items were stocked and clean. The location of the hotel is typical, just off the 401. There are a few hotels in the area and it's just a block away from Wellington Street and any amenity you could possibly need. The rooms were quiet, clean, and new. Granite, tile, and controllable heater/air conditioning unit in all rooms. The free WiFi is an added bonus! I would definitely return to this hotel if in London again.
We stayed here on a family weekend vacation. We attended the "Day Out with Thomas, In St. Thomas" event. The accommodations were great. Very clean, everyone was courteous, the breakfast was excellent and my children loved the pool. We would definitely stay here again.
We were traveling from Wisconsin to Niagara Falls and wanted to stay a distance from Niagara so we chose London. We usually do not choose a Hampton Inn but decided to try it since this one had good reviews. I am so glad we stayed here. It has easy access to the highway so it was easy to find. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant and they contacted us shortly after we were settled to make sure everything was to our liking. The room was clean and updated. Beds were very comfortable and I especially liked the individual climate control feature. The breakfast was over and above what I expected and the breakfast staff was friendly and even chatty. But the thing I found most impressive was the military discount. Typically hotels have a government rate that is actually higher than the standard rate. Not here. What a way to honor our military members and veterans. Thank you Hampton Inn!!
We were very happy with our rooms. Nice TV, good clear picture. Good lighat 1ting, although the switches on the floor lamps are difficult to operate, so that it was easier to unplug it.
We arrived for breakfast in plenty of time before they cut it off. One of us, who is very elderly, had not slept well and wa snot able to make it down to breakfast, so I took some up to her. This meant that I had to get some milk for the cereal just before they cut off the breakfast at 10am. At about 5 to 10 I had heard someone in the kitchen loudly proclaiming that she was going to start taking away the food at the very stroke of 10, so I cut short my own breakfast in order to pick up some stuff before 10. When I got there the milk had alrady been taken away, and there was no one to be seen in terms of staff, so I called out into the kitchen asking if I could please have some milk. Someone appeared with a litre of milk unopened and handed it to be me, telling me in no uncertain terms that breakfast was over at 10. Actually, according to the clock in the dining area, it was not yet 10. I did not apprecite the attitude. We also asked for hard boiled eggs, but they said that the head office had told them not to cook them any more. this is a bad idea in my view, as so many people are on diets and they don't want whatever extra ingredients go into the scrambled eggs. The orange juice was not of the best quality. The pastries weren't too bad. The only things I took to the person who was still in bed were cereal, yogurt, banana and tea.
So the breakfast experience did not recommend itself, although the rest was good. I will be staing over in London again in a couple of days and I will probably try my chances at another place, partly in the hopes of a better breakfast experience and partly because the Hilton points programme is such that they expire after a year if you don't have a new transaction. Best Western and Holiday Iinn points never expire, so I will probably go there. I chose this place simply to keep the points alive for another year.
I would have preferred different bedding. I know it's hard to keep everyone happy, but the duvet is hardly necesary in summer especially in a heat wave. The plastic type of blanket which was in the closet is not pleasant. I would have slept better if they'd had a third alternative, a natural fabric. I woke up at 3, too hot although the thermostat was at 70, and did not really sleep much after this. In the morning I realized that the duvet was the problem.
