Recently took advantage of the "Girl's Weekend" with a friend. Were welcomed by a very friendly and courtesy woman at the front reception. Room was lovely and large and overlooked the front of the inn. Antiques in the rooms are looking a bit worn and could use a bit of refurbishment, but the inn does have a real period feel to it. Had dinner in the main restaurant, which was very tasty but could have had more seasonal touches to it. During the evening, the room was very cold and the thermostat was more wall decoration than function, however the maid did provide us with extra blankets when she did the evening turndown service. Breakfast was a bit disappointing (but it was a Sunday, so I imagine the chef was nowhere near the kitchen, with overcooked eggs and bacon that had a bit of an old oil taste to it. Coffee was very good! Not much to do in the direct surrounding area, although you can walk to Wortley Village shops and to downtown London if you are so inclined. A wedding was going on in the hotel while we were there, and for about an hour or so later in the evening, the children at the wedding raced around the inn in a long game of hide and seek. No one seemed to stop them from doing this. Overall, a very nice place to stay if you are visiting in London or just want to do something fun with a friend, or something romantic with your partner.
