We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and really liked it. Recent reviews of the Delta have not been very good but based on our previous stay we decided to book this hotel again. The hotel is a nice departure from the regular chain hotels. It is build around a armoury and has some very nice brick work in the lobby, the resturant and around the pool. Our room was located on the 16th floor in the tower that runs up the middle of the old armoury building. The room was very nice and had been updated since our stay 5 years ago.

One of the elevators was not working but they opened up the service elevator for use because of the inconvience. There was a letter on the desk in our room explaining that the whole elevator was being replaced and they were sorry for the inconvience. These things happen and a safe elevator is better than one that will break down! We never had more than a couple minute wait for the elevator anyway.

Nice hotel and would book here again.

Old and tired is the best way to describe the hotel. Front desk and valet service under staffed and poorly organized. Room was OK but the bathroom was terrible. Black Mold in bathroom and tile grout was dirty.
We were there for a wedding and some gifts were stolen. Security did nothing nor did they care.
This hotel certainly did not live up to its' own billing. Very disappointed. London has many hotels which are far superior.......stay away from this one.

Dear Trek8000
I’m sorry you found your stay disappointing. I can assure you that the incident regarding the wedding you attended was handled to the best of our hotel staffs ability during a busy New Years Eve. Our Wedding coordinator has been in touch with the Bride and Groom to ensure all gifts were recovered. They were more than pleased with our efforts and plan on recommending our property to their friends thanks to the service the received on their special night.
With regards to the condition of your room, I can assure you this has been forwarded to our Housekeeping department to be addressed immediately. This is definitely not our standard as we strive to ensure all our guest’s needs are met during every stay.
I appreciate your comments as they allow us to make adjustments to our product and services to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay. I do hope you will return to the Delta London Armouries Hotel in the future!
Kindest Regards

Stayed here for 2 nights during Homecoming weekend and paid $200 with the group rate (class block booking) -- ouch. Hotel is very 1970s in decor and the air is really quite stale in the rooms. Despite the fact that I had booked months in advance, my room was not ready at 9 pm Friday evening. I had booked an "Executive Room" to avoid the noisy hordes partying all night, but it turns out those "Armouries Rooms" (which you pay a significant premium for -- they have a jet tub and are larger) are right over the function rooms: and with 2 weddings going on I chose not to suffer through the thumpa thumpa of the bass through the floor and asked for a "regular" room in the tower instead. Some good points: valet parking is only $12, the service is generally very helpful, the room I had was spacious and quite well-equipped (ironing board and iron, blowdryer, clock radio, free ethernet internet access with plug provided) and the room service coffee is drinkable; also they were very well staffed-up for the busy Homecoming weekend, including security and even an elevavtor lady. But that's an awful lot of money for a dreary hotel London, ON.

  • Liked — very helpful staff, cheap valet parking, convenient location
  • Disliked — not good value, dated, stale air, room didn't feel clean (carpet) (although bathroom very clean)

Dear Bonjour_d'Ottawa,
We appreciate you taking a moment to let us know how your stay went. Our 'Executive Rooms’ or Armouries Rooms which are situated in the more historical part of the building offer a unique Victorian style décor and deep jetted Jacuzzi tub, however I'm sorry there were noise disturbances during the evening. We take every precaution we can to ensure other events do not disturb our guests. I apologize you were disappointed but can assure you this is not typical of our property.
Our hotel is currently undergoing renovations to create a more modern feel while keeping the charm and history alive within our unique setting.
We are delighted to hear that all staff members you came in contact with offered helpful and friendly service and that you enjoyed the in-room amenities. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Delta London Armouries Hotel for the next Homecoming weekend!
Kindest Regards

We stayed here for 3 nights on holiday but were disappoiinted with the hotel.
The initial impression was quite good with the reception looking clean and bright even though there was a strong chlorine smell in the air due to the proximity of the pool. However, on going to our 11th Floor Premier room we were concerned that the corridor looked very dark and dated and were even more disappointed when our room not only looked dark and dingy but smelt strongly of smoke. We immediately asked to change rooms and someone was sent up to move us. When we reached the second room the bedding looked new but the furniture and wallcoverings looked very tatty and dated. We asked to upgrade but were unable to as the hotel was fully booked. We were offered the possibility of moving the following day but in the end decided to stay in the room as we couldn't be bothered to pack up again and move rooms for just 2 nights.
The next problem we had was the bath - for some unknown reason they have surrounded the bath with marble but it has been designed so badly that you are unable to rest your head back when you have a bath. No chance of a long relaxing soak with a book here!
We didn't eat or drink in the hotel or use any of the other facilities so can't comment on the rest of the hotel but I would recommend paying more for a Signature Club room if you want to stay here. The good points are that the staff were really friendly and helpful at all times

My mother and I had to stay in London for a few days while my father went in a recovered from surgery.

The first night we stayed at the university hotel and relised that though it was a good deal it was not comfortable and we were more stressed in the end.

On our second day my father took a short turn (thank goodness) for the worse so with short notice we needed another night at a hotel.

I quickely opened the phone book and started looking for a hotel. Several of the places I called were already overbooked and we were getting worried that there would be no where to stay.

When I finally called the Delta the staff was so friendly and reasured us that there would be no plroblem. They didnt even insist that I give my cridit card number (since it was up six floors in the hospital room with my mother. When we arrived that night we were both so tired and the staff welcomed us, it felt peaceful.

We had dinner at the hotel (which was wonderful) and slept a sound sleep in their clean and comfortable hotel room.

Needless to say we wish our stay was for pleasure instead of hospital reasons so my husband and I will be staying in November for our one year anniversary and we cant wait.

Please let all your staff know how thankful my Mother and I were for your help and reasurance so that a stressful time was just a little more relaxed.
