“An old tired hotel with power outages”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

This was a horrible place to stay. Exterior patio door was very drafty the heater made a loud noice and top add to my uncomfortable stay the power when off and on. My sleep is dependent on having electricity due to a medical condition. Frond desk had offered a free breakfast when I continued to explain how unsatisfied I was. Read all the other comments too...

Room Tip: Don't go there, there is a Holiday Inn next door, thats were I'll go next time..

“Great stay at a reasonable price”

First off, I stayed at this hotel years ago with some buddies for a hockey tournament. It was fine for us guys, but when my wife told me she booked this hotel for our weekend get away I was a little leery. But I don't know if it is new ownership, or they just put some money into the place but their is a good improvement.

Arriving at the hotel I was greeted by a very outgoing brunette girl, checkin was prompt and easy, and she gave us directions to our room no problem. The exterior of the hotel still looks a little shady, but the room that we booked - 1 king size - club room, was fine for us.

No problems at all during our stay, and every staff member was met was always smiling and greeted us warmly. Checkout again was quick and easy and we will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: The King Club room was great!!

“There are better choices.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011

I have been spending every weekend in Kingston since Sept 2011. I normally stay at the comfort inn right down the street but on one weekend I had no other option then to spend it at the Days Inn. At the check in, the receptionist displayed a cold and un-welcomed attitude, not even a hello. Two of the staffers on the side complaining about the manager as a customer I really didn’t need to hear those nasty comments Got my room card and proceeded to walk down this long and creepy hallway to get to my room kind of reminded me of a scene from the movie the Shinning with Jack Nicholson.
It was probably time for them to change the mattress in our room, it no longer offered any support. Terrible sleep. I suggest you bring your own pillow or fold up a heavy fall jacket and use it as a pillow because theirs consisted of nothing more than a pillow case. The Tv remote was out of wack I worked when it wanted to.
I normally stay at the Comfort Inn down the street I know if you check on Tripadvisor both hotels are almost ranked the same but trust me you are better off at the Comfort Inn for the following reasons;
A friendly greeting when you walk in.
Great service at the check in counter.
Microvwave in the room
Fresh coffee at all times
A basic but delicious free breakfast.
However they still have room for improvement but I would definitely choose the Comfort Inn over the Days Inn.

“Accomodations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2011

Hotel is easy to locate just south off of highway 401 on the east side. Check-in was fine and proofed to issues or hastle free. Staff were freindly and cordual. As I had one senior in my group who could not do stairs we needed a room on the ground floor. Access to the unit would be easy if you did not have a disabled person. However we found that parking car in front of unit and walking around through inside to room and opening patio doors to room made aceesibility easier for our disabled person.

Overall room is typical of a hotel, we had a room with 2 queen sized beds. Quality of room was OK, only issue was air in room as when entered it felt very musky and damp. Once we got the AC unit working the room cleared up.

The Checkin area and Restuarrant (Denny's) are in another area seperated from the rooms we had close to the outdoor pool, which we did not use, arrived too late as pool closes at 9:30 p.m.

We checked in at 5:30 and by the time we settled, grabbed supper it was too late to use this facility.

Overalll the room was bearable, I personally will not be staying there anymore and will search out another establishment next time I am in that area, this is not to say the room was bad, it just was not up to our standards.

On a positive note, when we called ahead to reserve thee room, the hotel services offerred us 4 complimentary breakfast meals at Denny's for the guests in our room.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. In response to your comments above, we appreciate that everyone’s standards are different. Days Inn is a budget friendly hotel. However, it offers clean, comfortable rooms along with a number of amenities including free internet, free local calls, numerous inroom amenities, a Denny's restaurant, lounge, meeting rooms, and a large outdoor pool. More expensive hotels may offer more, but at an increased price.

Thank you for your positive comments about our staff, as customer service is our number one priority.

Sincerely,

General Manager
