If you looking to stay at place that is very well used by local and area prostitutes this place is for you. You can find them working out of different rooms though out the hotel the smell of weed coming out of the rooms guys listening in on room doors in the hallways.

I get the feeling staff does not care as long as the rooms get book

“great value for money and well located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

i've stayed here on numerous occasions over a number of years and the worst thing i've experienced is running out of coffee whitener and having to collect further supplies free of charge from reception. i've not seen bedbugs nor brought any home with me, havent been bitten, havent experienced any rude staff nor anyone trying to charge anything to my credit card that i wasnt due to pay for. The place is clean, comfortable, affordable and well located with free parking right outside. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities in the rooms are superb. The bar/restaurant is very good and room service is available - in fact almost everything anyone could require is provided.Like some others, I prefer wndows that open however taking everything into account I'm happy to put up with that small inconvenience - the rooms are spacious and airy and you can turn the cooler on rather than have the place over-heated. I know that sometimes things can go wrong but overall I think this is a place that tries hard to get things right and on the whole is successfull in doing so.

Room Tip: just tell the staff what you want when you check in eg a quiet room, high floor, etc

“Free crack pipes with room...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I'm from Hamilton but I've stayed here off and on usually after a fight with the wife or a long night of partying or both. While I was living outside of Hamilton, I visited the city and stayed at the Admiral. I had a fairly large suite with two beds, a couch and a microwave and mini-fridge. The room was pretty clean overall.

When I walked in the room, some broken glass caught my eye from under the couch. Upon closer inspection, it was clearly a broken, used crack pipe. I picked up the two larger pieces and put it in one of the styrofoam cups included with the suite and brought it down to the front desk, politely covering it with my hand so arriving guests wouldn't be alarmed.

When I showed it to the girl at the front desk, I asked "do you know what this is?" she said "is it yours?" and right there I knew exactly how it would go. I had to haggle to get a free nights stay out of it and a discounted meal at their in-house restaurant (which was pretty darn good, all-told). And that's really all I can say about the Admiral.

Room Tip: Make sure you check for glass from broken crack pipes.

“My first choice in Hamilton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

I had stayed here in Nov. 2010, and it was my first choice when i found myself going back to Hamilton. The rooms were good size and fairly clean. I was in two different rooms (nothing wrong with my first room, it just wasn't available for the last night of my stay). Both could have really used a good cleaning of the carpet, but everything else looked OK. And as I travel with more electronics, i find most hotels could use more electrical outlets, or maybe a power strip at the desk. Yes, there were periods when some of the TV channels were not available, which was annoying, but not a dealbreaker. And they have an elevator, almost a necessity for me. Located across from Dundurn Castle, it's a quick trip to and from downtown. Surrounded by residences, gas, groceries, fast food, banking and more are nearby. And it has free parking! The staff at the desk, restaurant and housekeeping were all very friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared, with a good variety and breakfast served all day. Portions were a good value for the money. If I find myself in Hamilton again, my lodging search will start here!

“Visa card maxed - Cable/TV no service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011

We checked in to the hotel on 9/21/11 and checked out on 9/26/11.
I gave my Visa card to the hotel clerk and they took the number for theirfile to hold until we checked out. The next day when I went to use it - the restaurant where we were eating said it was declined. Thought there must be a problem with their machine so used cash. Next time I went to use it, same problem, it was declined. I called my bank and told them what the problem was and they said it was because they put a hold on it at the hotel for the full balance of what was in my acct. I confronted the manager John Lulich and he informed me that was common and it was done all the time. I asked him to take it off and my friend would give her card to use instead. He said it would be held for 14 days or until we check out the following Monday. Very matter of fact and not at all cooperative. Said it was common for hotels to hold up to $500.00 a day for the room. Second issue was no TV - said it was the cable company's fault and he was sorry but could not do anything. (As a matter of fact 10 rooms were affected this way). Felt like they should have given us a discount - Two nights were 89.95 and three @ $119.95. Shd have at least given us all 5 nights at 89.95. One thing is for sure we would not recommend the hotel to anyone nor stay there again. My friend's two aunts who live in Hamilton go in there quite frequently to eat in the dining room so they will not be going in there again. Last but not least, my friend asked for the owner's name to call later and he refused to give it to her saying that he requested his name not be given out.
