I travel to Guelph many times per year and this hotel is my choice! The convenience of being downtown and the staff make this a must stay for a business traveller. You can enjoy a nice meal with a drink or two at many of the restaurant choices and not worry about driving to a hotel on the outskirts of town or spending $15-20 on taxi. The hotel is does not have your typical big-box feel, but it provides a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

I stay at the Travelodge in downtown Guelph about ten times a year. When I phone up for a reservation they know who I am. Being downtown is great because you're close to everything. The staff is always helpful with the big and little things. If you need toiletries or Ice, they get it. If you need directions to somewhere, they help you. The rooms are clean and quiet. I've been staying there for business and pleasure for the last eight years.

I travel a lot for business and try and find inexpensive hotels- but normally inexpensive does not have to mean down and out. Just about everything in this hotel is broken...exercise equipment, ice machines, doors, etc...It is just incredibly run down. Even though the room was "cleaned" each day, there was stuff on the carpets. All the carpets in the public spaces are worn out. It just is NOT a nice place to stay. The staff was very pleasant - but I would not recommend anyone to stay here.

from the outside the travelodge needs work -- and it's on the way when the new street alignment takes place for the bus depot.
the lobby is dull, but that is made up for by the warm staff -- and the decor will be updated soon.
the room was a complete surprise -- a very clean, tasteful place to relax and sleep.
and so close to the wonderful upscale downtown. and new buildings and renovations are mading guelph a small vibrant city.
really enjoyed the visit and will again soon!
