This was my 4th stay at this Travelodge and as always, my stay was perfect. Yes the hotel is dated looking but the decor is not the heart of this hotel. The people who own and work here are the real hidden gems. People who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Customer service.....with a smile!
This historic building boasts a superb location in downtown Guelph, across from the Via/Go trains and the bus terminal. There is a complimentary breakfast daily with all the basics. Everything has always been fresh and the coffee is superb.
All in all a great value that I would not hesitate to recommend.

I travel to Guelph many times per year and this hotel is my choice! The convenience of being downtown and the staff make this a must stay for a business traveller. You can enjoy a nice meal with a drink or two at many of the restaurant choices and not worry about driving to a hotel on the outskirts of town or spending $15-20 on taxi. The hotel is does not have your typical big-box feel, but it provides a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

I stay at the Travelodge in downtown Guelph about ten times a year. When I phone up for a reservation they know who I am. Being downtown is great because you're close to everything. The staff is always helpful with the big and little things. If you need toiletries or Ice, they get it. If you need directions to somewhere, they help you. The rooms are clean and quiet. I've been staying there for business and pleasure for the last eight years.

I travel a lot for business and try and find inexpensive hotels- but normally inexpensive does not have to mean down and out. Just about everything in this hotel is broken...exercise equipment, ice machines, doors, etc...It is just incredibly run down. Even though the room was "cleaned" each day, there was stuff on the carpets. All the carpets in the public spaces are worn out. It just is NOT a nice place to stay. The staff was very pleasant - but I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
