On the website the Eremo appears to be a secluded romantic hideaway which makes you feel like you are entering another world. And it did not disappoint. The converted monastary sits on top of a hilltop overlooking the center of Spoleto and has a maginificent view. We initially had booked a double room, the suite was beyond our price range, but as we checked in our hostess realized that given my husbands height the double room we had reserved initially would be too short. She graciouslly upgraded us to the suite which was my first choice if I had an unlimited budget. We also had dinner there and it was one of the best meals in our 2 week trip to Italy (and we went to many of the high priced and well reviewed Rome, Florence and Chianti restaurants!)
We also were lucky to have booked our last night during an amazing wine festival which takes place the first weekend in June which is an amazing deal(10 euros for unlimited all day /night wine tasting of high quality wines (Amarone!, Brunellos!)
