The Monte Carlo Inn - Brampton, has an okay looking exterior (standard for the Hotel chain from what I have seen), and the grounds were kept clean. There was an out door pool (closed because it was December), and the parking lot was big enough for all guests. The lobby was nice looking, and had a little sitting area in front of a fire place. I wish more Hotels had a lobby like that.
The rooms are small, but big enough if all you are planning on doing is sleeping in them. We had to change rooms the first day. When I checked the sink (room 203) the water was not draining. I checked the sink, and it was clogged, so I pulled at the pop up water stopped in the sink, and it just came out... attached to it was a foot long "clog". I'll leave it to your imagination as to what it was made off... most disgusting thing I have seen in my life. I have no idea how the cleaning staff missed this...
I went down to the front desk right away, and we changed rooms without issue.
The next room we got had no issues. The flat screen 32" TV's in the room are a okay, but the picture quality is only 480i (basic cable). The beds were comfortable, and the washroom came with all the stuff you would expect at a Hotel. One thing though, after using the shampoo, the bottle was not replaced with a new one.
Another issue was that the elevator (there is only one) broke twice. Once on Christmas day, and again on boxing day. They did get it fixed within an hour though.
The breakfasts were free, and the server at the restaurant was excellent! She really made a big impact on the quality of the stay, otherwise I'd rate this place a 3. For a 3 star hotel, this is a good place to stay, just check the sink to make sure it isn't clogged...
Room Tip: Room 208 was good. We used Expedia, and choose the option of "Expedia Unpublished Rates Hotels...
