“if all you care about is how cheap it is.......”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

I have never stayed at a shelter, but after this stay I felt like I have.

At first glance the motel looks ok for $60. Then you realize how dirty it is. For any of the reviewers that says this place is not dirty, I would hate to see what their homes look like.

- dirt mounds at every corner - in the front lobby, hallways, rooms everywhere. You can see where they mop/clean around things.
- garbage cans in the hall way are so dirty you are afraid to put garbage in them for fear of what might jump out at you!
- hair on floor, in shower, on towels, woven into blanket on bed
- bedspeads that appeared to never been washed
- fridge that was in room dirty dirty dirty
- laundry room - not sure how any one gets dirty clothes cleaned the room was so dirty the floor had dryer sheets everywhere, big balls of dryer fluff, the machines smelled so bad. All I wanted to wash was a blanket that I keep in my car in case of emergancy and I decided that it was better a bit dirty then to wash it there.
- mattress was about 5 inches think. There was a tag hanging from it saying 40. I looks like they bought it second hand.

I got off the elevator and the first thing I could smell was a mixture of smoke and pot.
When I asked him about laundry front desk guy told me "if I were you I wouldn't use it, there's a coin laudry down the road".

I was supposed to stay multiple nights I checked out after the first and moved to the hotel down the street. Bit more money, but at least I didn't feel like I would be bringing "friends" home with me when I left.

I guess bottom line is is you don't mind a "shelter" type stay then check it out. But it honestly is a 1.5 star at best.

“Motel 6 pet friendly/people friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

Our Brampton visit was wonderful. Pet friendly we had a room close to the main entrance, and right outside was a HUGE field to run/exercise Phoeline (our mini poodle) safely away from all traffic. When we asked for shopping tips, Paulette the head housekeeper, took the time to guide us in the right direction. When we returned, she took the time to ask if we had found everything ! No matter where we have stayed in motel 6 we have ALWAYS been impressed. Brampton has had two visits from us now, and we plan on coming back for more !
~ from a motel 6 customer "way back when" the rooms were $6

“50/50 : Mixed feelings...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

My boyfriend and I just needed a "no frills" motel just to lay our heads and shower for 3 nights. We decided Motel 6 because of the location and the price. We wanted to spend most of our money on the rest of our excursion---

Negatives:
Dirty and slow elevator
Killed a spider crawing up the wall (no big deal)
Smelled smoke in a non-smoking room (it happens sometimes)
Dorm-like room (bed, desk, chair, tv, bathroom)
No closet
Hole in the comforter
Pillows (inside the pillowcase) were filthy (we doubled up the pillowcases)
Black hair all over the floor (my hair is brown)
You could always hear people in the hallway (it happens sometimes)
There was no iron in the room (had to go to the front desk for it - one night, it was borrowed by a guest and never brought back)
Housekeepers were a bit rude

Positives
The Customer Service was friendly
The nightly rates were affordable (but doesnt mean better)
The lights in the room worked
They provided clean towels and soap (no shampoo or lotion)
We always had hot water
The bathroom was somewhat clean and the tub was spacious
The T.V. worked
The ice machine and vending machine works
No Continental breakfast, just coffee

Final Statement:
If you just need a place to lay your head at night for a low price, this is just for you. If you need a place to feel like the comfort of your home, this place is not for you. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra $15-$20 a night if you want a little more comfort (however its never guaranteed). As for us, Motel 6 will never see us again, unless this hotel does a serious upgrade like the Winston Churchill location...

“You get what you pay for.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

With this place you get what you pay for. I had missed my flight and needed an extra day so I compromised for this place. Its only about 15 mins from Pearson airport. The room was ok, not the cleanest but not the worst place to stay either. If you're in a bind then this place isn't so bad.

Room Tip: Ask for a room to the right of the main lobby. That side seems to have less noise.

“Nail clippers in sheets, need I say more?”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

We were staying in the motel for a wedding and stopped to rest before the reception. Something sharp was sticking out of the bed, and when we investigated, there was an open set of nail clippers between the blankets and sheets. Clearly, no one had attempted to clean the sheets between customers. When we complained, it took too much work for us to get a new room (they offered to have someone come up and remove the nail clippers and seemed surprised when that wasn't good enough).
