I have never stayed at a shelter, but after this stay I felt like I have.
At first glance the motel looks ok for $60. Then you realize how dirty it is. For any of the reviewers that says this place is not dirty, I would hate to see what their homes look like.
- dirt mounds at every corner - in the front lobby, hallways, rooms everywhere. You can see where they mop/clean around things.
- garbage cans in the hall way are so dirty you are afraid to put garbage in them for fear of what might jump out at you!
- hair on floor, in shower, on towels, woven into blanket on bed
- bedspeads that appeared to never been washed
- fridge that was in room dirty dirty dirty
- laundry room - not sure how any one gets dirty clothes cleaned the room was so dirty the floor had dryer sheets everywhere, big balls of dryer fluff, the machines smelled so bad. All I wanted to wash was a blanket that I keep in my car in case of emergancy and I decided that it was better a bit dirty then to wash it there.
- mattress was about 5 inches think. There was a tag hanging from it saying 40. I looks like they bought it second hand.
I got off the elevator and the first thing I could smell was a mixture of smoke and pot.
When I asked him about laundry front desk guy told me "if I were you I wouldn't use it, there's a coin laudry down the road".
I was supposed to stay multiple nights I checked out after the first and moved to the hotel down the street. Bit more money, but at least I didn't feel like I would be bringing "friends" home with me when I left.
I guess bottom line is is you don't mind a "shelter" type stay then check it out. But it honestly is a 1.5 star at best.
