We have stayed here twice in the last few weeks. The rooms aren't bad, the bathroom fan was pretty loud and when you walked to the pool, they should have signs or you might get lost, also in every area there is a different micro-climate. *No elevators!* The pool looked ok and the hot tub, although a little dirty was warm enough. Breakfast was ok but get there early or they run out of eggs and your out of luck. They will charge you $2 for having a safe in the room? The first time we stayed, they made dinner reservations for us at the Keg and we got a discount off dinner, the second time no discount and the Keg denied having any deal with the Travelodge, only with the Best Western. Also, they will charge your credit card for potential incidentals to the room, which really makes me mad, that's like charging people for potentially smoking in a non-smoking room! Really?!
Room Tip: Something in the 200's cause there are no elevators, only stairs, and the rooms near the rear by...

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us at the Traveloge Barrie on Bayfield.
We do not charge your credit card for potential incidentals to the room. Upon checkin we require a $20 deposit for incidental charges (long distance phone calls, pay per view movies, etc.). Therefore, if you pay by credit card we preauthorize your card, not charge it, for an additional $20. For all cash paying customers we require a $20 cash deposit for any incidentals. If this has not been used the $20 is returned at checkout. We need to ensure that the funds are available.
The promotion with the Keg Restaurant has ended with our hotel, however, we would still be pleased to make reservations for you. We cannot guarantee a discount anymore.
We do have safes in all of our guest rooms. At checkin, each guest is made aware of the safe warranty fee on their registration card as they must also initial that they have read and understood it. We also have 2 signs at the front desk posted that state:
We are not responsible for the loss of valuables left unprotected.
A personal safe with a limited warranty for up to $5000 of loss (as a result of forced entry) is located in each guestroom. A nominal charge of $2 (plus applicable taxes) per day is added to your account for this valuable convenience. Upon request, this charge can be removed at check-out. This is an added security feature for our guests.
Again, thank you for your comments and we hope to see you again soon!
Sincerely,
Mary Lewis
