“Above and beyond”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

From the moment we walked into the Inn we were made to feel right at home. The food was great, hospitality outstanding, & the view of the pretty river valley stunning! I guess the thing that makes me give it a 5 star rating would be all the thoughtful little extras. From the yummy homebaked cookies & snacks that are accessible all day to the evening surprise (I don't want to give it away), the hosts have really thought this through. In our daily life and hustle and bustle, we rarely come across instances where people take the time to make a difference. At the Pretty RIver Inn... they do make a difference. A lovely stay. Thank you!

“Awesome in the Winter - Will re-visit in the Summer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My guy and I had a few extra "use 'em or lose 'em" vacation days and opted for a relaxful getaway that might help us to remember that when we were kids, we actually LIKED winter. Found the Inn on the internet and were attraced by the fact that they are an actual working farm and inn and that they had interesting package deals. We booked two nights in a suite with the Blue Mountain Scandenavian Spa and (believe it or not) an introduction dog sledding experience. We had a wonderful stay. The inn is charming - nestled in the country side and we wandered the grounds introducing ourselves to the horses, chickens and reindeer. Our afternoon at the Spa was divine and made even better by the prepacked bag with water bottle, towels and fluffy robes compliments of the inn. Both breakfasts we had were amazing and plentiful - fruit, yogurt, sweet breads and a hot entree (the French Toast was to die for) all in front of a cozy wood burning fire. Some wonderful conversation with fellow travellers and inn mates. The room was comfortable and clean with wood burning fire place, fridge, DVD player and bathtub with jets. We did not take advantage of either jacuzzi at the inn as we had enjoyed soaking and steaming and cold plunging at the spa. We very much enjoyed our conversation with inn keeper Linda about the farm, the horses and Tai Chi. Our sledding experience in Rob Roy was a lot of fun. It was introduction level and well suited to families, but both me and my guy had a blast playing with the huskies and taking turns around the track at the helm of the sleds. We threw in a few hours geocahing in Blue Mountain, Collingwood and the surrounding area. A great relaxing few days and a place we want to visit again when motorcycle season beakons. NOTE: Cellular service is iffy at best so be aware if you're the type that needs to check in regularly - The inn DOES have wireless internet though and a computer in the living room that you can use!

Room Tip: We stayed in the studio and would like to try a suite or even the Croft with other family

“feels like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Even though we stayed at the Inn only for a night, we had an unforgettable experience. We loved the room, the jacuzzi, the coziness and most importantly the genuine care of the family running the Inn.
We booked the Scandinavian Baths package, which included the stay at the Inn, the Baths passes, complementary champagne, robes, towels and more. Everything was taken care of for us. We could just relax. A vacation cannot be more perfect than that!
We are definitely coming back!

Room Tip: We stayed at the loft and it was great! Tea, coffee and cookies are there too, on the first floor.

“Great Girls Weekend”

My best girlfriends and I had an amazing time at the Pretty River Valley Country Inn. We had a spa package and spent the afternoon at the Scandinave with robes from the Inn, came back to a cozy wood burning fire, complementary, drinks and popcorn. Chilled in the super quaint hangout and had a great sleep in the king size bed in the Ben Nevis room. Breakfast was great and they accommodated my Vegan friend with a yummy fry up.The staff were friendly and helpful. We talked about making the girls weekend an annual event!

Thank you for the kind words. We are so fortunate to have Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain a few minutes away. It is a delight to see guests returning from the Spa totally relaxed and ready to “Nest” for the evening in front of their wood burning fireplace. The “Girls Getaways” tends to have a different “vibe” and it is a delight to see good friends re-connect, in some cases after a very long period of time. We are delighted to play a small part in these happy events!
