My husband and I came across the Eye of the Eagle in a random search for somewhere to go for the Easter long weekend. It turned out to be the best choice ever! The gentle spirits of our hosts Ann & Rod, made our trip restful, relaxing and rejuvenating. Their beautiful home, the lovely evening conversations with delicious home made cookies, BIG meals (that you can hardly finish), and a gourmet dinner made the trip far more than we expected. It is not just their open friendly nature but their attention to detail, care, love and pride in what they do that sets them apart from others. Breafast is ready when you are, lunch is a pleasant meal with great conversation, dinner started as a visual treat with a beautifully laid out table with lovely china and crystal and candles (The table setings were different at each meal!). And the meals -delicious, gourmet fare, healthy and varied. The attention does not end there, you find chocolates on your pillow and a specially made up gift basket to take home with you.
We loved that after dinner we were able to go into the hot tub outdoors and enjoy the evening, but the best was yet to come - a couples hot stone massage which was different from any massage we've ever had. Ann has the kindest touch! The fact that we did not try out other spa facilities is one more reason to go back. What a treat to be able to have a massage at 9:00 pm and then slip into your robe and relax.
We have already decided to go back again and highly recommend Eye of the Eagle retreat - which really is more than a retreat; but in order to find out what that means you'll have to make a trip that we are sure will not disappoint.
Ann and Rod we thank you!
