We chose this hotel because of the view of chocolate lake and because of the value. We stayed in a 2 Queen bedroom with a lakeview on the forth floor.The rate include free parking ,free wifi and a free buffet breakfast.We had our little dog with us. The 9th floor has a much better view but because we had a dog was told that this floor is not pet friendly. The room has a refrigerator in it and had very nice decor and was very clean. We would of liked a flat screen TV.The pool and hot tub are was also very clean. Cocoa the dog who lives at the hotel is very friendly. We ate in the dining room . We thought they had many choices and the food was very good. We had Chris for a waiter and he was very nice.We would stay here again.

I stayed at the Chocolate Lake Hotel for three days, Jan. 26-28th, 2012. We were very pleased with the room. It is a little on the small side but certainly adequate and very clean. The beds were fresh and comfortable. I did not notice anything out of order in the room.

There is a bar off the lobby and we had drinks there and one evening we stayed in and had supper at the adjoining restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised! The food was fantastic. Steaks and salmon done to perfections. We could not believe it. We were so glad we stayed at the hotel to eat.

The all you can eat breakfast is included (hot and cold items) and its one of the best I have eaten.

You won't be dissappointed and say hello to Coco in the lobby for me. You are 5 mince from downtown Halifax with this hotel.

We booked our hotel stay using air miles for one of the night's stay. It was absolutely confusing from the word 'go' once we got to the front desk . They did not know what they were talking about and were giving me misinformation. Very frustrating! Then, when we went to check out, they gave me wrong information AGAIN! Also, there was a wedding on the Friday night of our stay there and we were the music from the 3rd floor (we were on the 5th floor) until 1:00 A.M. Not good! They really should have put their conference centre on the main floor rather than on the 3rd floor up. Ugh. Beds were nice. Pillows aren't great. I needed to use 3 pillows in order to be comfortable. Not likely to stay there again.

This hotel was as good as being at home. The rooms are perfect, and the food in the dining room is very good, and served by a most amiable staff. It is my first choice when visiting Halifax.
