Stayed here two nights in January while attending meetings in Halifax. Great location means it's within easy walking distance to many restaurants, the waterfront and local attractions like Pier 21 and the Citadel. If you're in town for a show or sporting event, it's also less than 10 minutes walk away from the Metro Center.

There's also a nice pool in the basement, and a 24-hour gym. Only complaint is that the gym is very small - so if you're a morning person like me be sure to get there early (before 6 a.m.) or else you may have a hard time finding a spot!

Front desk and housekeeping service was excellent.

If you're in town on business or pleasure, I'd highly recommend it.

I booked into the Four Points for a night as I was meeting with a colleague the next day for a day of meetings in the hotel. I arrived late and was greeted by a friendly agent at check-in. This was my second stay at Four Points Halifax, but my first stay at a Starwood property as a Platinum Member and I was handed a "welcome" card from the manager, informed I had been upgraded to a suite, asked to choose my Platinum amenity (free breakfast, free movie, or bonus points) and offered a small box of maple truffles. I was also offered a 4pm check-out, which I accepted. I was very happy with the whole process and don't know if this happens at all Starwood properties!

The room was huge, with a living room with a TV and then a separate bedroom, with a king size bed and another TV. The room was on the 4th floor, and was exceptionally clean and was very, very quiet. There was also free Wi-Fi which is something I love about the Four Points - other hotels in the Starwood group don't often offer free Wi-Fi. It should be standard in all business-oriented hotels, in my opinion.

Staff the next day were friendly. The hotel is attached to a small shopping plaza with a coffee shop and a restaurant, where I had lunch with my colleague. Everything was easily accessible and handy. The meeting room - just a boardroom - was good and the rental rate was less than half of what they wanted at the nearby Westin.

Overall, this is a good hotel - a great value - and I will definitely stay again.

Right downtown and included parking. Close to restaurants, farmers market and night life.

Rooms clean and bed was comfortable. Staff polite and helpful. Even better it is walking distance to Mountain Equipment Co-Op.

Great location. Walk to everything in downtown. Friendly service. Rooms are a bit small. Only one restaurant/bar but was good although a bit expensive. Pool was really cold even though it was advertised as heated. Very warm and secure underground parking although it was 18.00 per day.
