There was a fire in April 2010 and the hotel is under renovations, making sure all guests are accomadated as needed. There is a large number of long term residents who stay there, knowing every effort is being done to meet their needs. For temporary travellers, you encounter the most friendly staff and management as soon as you walk in the door, and the level of service is un-paralleled any where else in yellowknife. I make every effort to stay there in lieu of the other hotels,and introduce my staff and Executives to there as well and have always received back favorable comments on the hospitality, coomfort and diligence of all the staff. An in all one exceelllent place to stay away from home.

I travel to Yellowknife a few times a year for business and this is by far the best hotel in town. The rooms are clean and spacious with a seperate kitchen and living room. There is wireless internet throught the hotel. Continental breakfast is also provided in the morning. The staff is pleasant and helpful, especially Catherine the manager.

I defenitely recommend this hotel. The staff is amazing, always ready to help. The suites are large and recently upgraded. The gym is not that big, but all is there. There is no other place I'd rather stay in Yellowknife.

While reasonably located in central Yellowknife, this hotel is about a 10 min walk to the central part of this small city.

The rooms are huge by any standard and are equipped with a full kitchen or as fully equiped as any hotel kitchens ever are. The rooms are however quite spartan and there are no frills here so do not expect the Taj Mahal.

What peeved me the most is that the hotel does not have a full restaurant, rather they have a catered continential breakfast which was disappointing and a catered dinner with no selections. You can take the dinner up to your hotel room which was nice but in plastic containers.

Apart from this, the hotel is good value and staff are friendly. Also FREE internet access which was nice.
